This fabulous, bif Museum is arranged very chronologically to help us know about the periods of Vietnam Fine Art. You can easily download the app to listen description of many artworks there. It is an French architectural building with a beautiful garden. You can spend abt 1 hour to view all the big collection here. Worth visiting place

Hanoi Fine art museum is good to visit for you when you visit Hanoi.The pieces are arranged very logical and we understand the development of VietNam . It is french buiding and very nice for walking . It takes about 1 hour for visitting his museum . You can travel with guide or without guide. We were on tour with VietNam Escape Tours Travel so we had tour gide and we could understand more about the history and museum

An excellent art museum, it really impressed us and it contains lots of material, some of which goes back hundreds of years. It follows a timeline, so it makes sense to follow the numbered sequence of displays.
As always watch out for the propaganda.

The museum was very grass roots, deep history revealing propaganda and spots of French influences. Some paintings were rough and raw reflecting the times. Perhaps the sculptures were my favourite. The Modern art was dynamic, all with much dark intensity in their work.
The museum itself was French colonial. Lovely walk through.
We had coffee, tea, specialty drinks with pate baguette in the Museum cafe. Our best coffee experience in Hanoi out in the cold crisp air.

A fabulous gallery of fine art.
The pieces are arranged chronologically and show the development of Vietnamese through the ages. The lacquer wood sculptures are especially lifelike and amusing. The post-war art veers a little too much towards blatant propaganda for my tastes but that is more than compensated by the contemporary pieces.
This is a must-see visit for anyone with an interest in art.

Hanoi Fine art gallery is definitely worth a visit. Interesting permanent exhibition of Vietnamese art. Make sure you take your phone, headphones and download the gallery app. For 50,000 vnd you activate the app and you can listen to descriptions of many art works. Very good. There is a strong political, perhaps propaganda, overlay in the permanent exhibition, but this probably represents the art from that time. If you go, there is a less frequented contemporary exhibition on the second floor of the building with the bag lockers. It is excellent. Don’t miss it!

Phòng trưng bày rộng, ánh sáng tốt, nhiều thông tin cho người xem. Bảo vật nhiều. Tuy nhiên có một số cái bị thiếu đi đâu không rõ, và cần thêm ghế ngồi bên trong.

Vous prenez votre ticket, on vous propose l’audio guide que nous avons pris, plus cher que le prix du billet puis ils vous connectent sur votre portable avec des écouteurs non nettoyés - toutes les galeries de tableaux sont en vietnamien anglais et français donc économisez votre argent et votre patience - sinon sur l’expo est jolie pas très lumineuse - prenez un taxi crabe pour vous y rendre c’est avantageux - bonne visite !

Un aperçu sur l'art vietnamien depuis la préhistoire jusqu'à l'époque moderne. Superbe collection. Trois étages + le sous-sol à visiter. Par contre, le parcours de la visite n'est pas évident.

I can't remember seeing any signs about this. But most of the galleries did not have staff in them so I took photos when I was there anyway.

J'ai visité le musée, mais pourquoi l'appelez-vous "de Budapest". Est-ce une erreur de Tripadvisor ?

Il semblerait que ce soit une erreur de Tripadvisor. Si sur Google on tape ce musée, seuls les sites mentionnant Tripadvisor lui donnent ce nom, les autres sites ne mentionnent pas "Budapest". Je ne peux vous en dire davantage. Bonne remarque et si vous trouvez la solution, je suis preneuse...
