The museum is very interesting, could be cleaned better (too much dust on display :)), but it's worth to go there and take long walk.
There is one gentleman sitting near huge map & point with the auto-light, where we are... or plan to go. Very cute.

The Bangladesh National Museum is a 3-floor museum that showcases the art, architecture, ecology, culture and history of Bengal and Bangladesh.
This museum is preserved by the government & there is an admission fee, however it is very affordable relatively for museum entry as a traveler.
For a Bangladeshi or National, it's approximately 40 taka = ~ $0.37 cents in USD.
I think the foreign nationality entry price is 400 taka = ~3.50 dollars.
We mainly explored the 1st floor, which was a very comprehensive exhibit showcasing a variety of topics. The ecology & flora and fauna of Bangladesh is a must visit for those who are interested in learning about the native species and their current protection status.
There is a section which showcases the daily cultural practices of Bangladeshis, such as spices, clothes, crafts and farming practices. It also includes history from the tribal people of Bangladesh.
There is also an extensive art and archeological art collection, with terracota, bronze and other metalworked architectures , some of which date from back to 2 BC!
The coin and taka collection section is very cool.
MY FAVORITE PART: The section on the 2nd floor dedicated to showcasing the independence of Bangladesh and the genocide of 1971. It is a complex and heart wrenching subject but the museum showcased the history respectfully and it is important to bring awareness to the topic.
Overall, our group of mainly teenagers really enjoyed it!
PS: The souvenir shop is great for people who collect postcards.

The Bangladesh National Museum is a must-visit for history lovers. The museum houses a rich collection of artifacts that offer insights into the country's rich past. From ancient coins and sculptures to traditional musical instruments and textiles, the museum has something for everyone.
The museum is located in the heart of Dhaka, and is easily accessible by public transport. The admission fee is very reasonable, and the staff is friendly and helpful. I highly recommend a visit to the Bangladesh National Museum!

You can’t help but break out in laughter at the ridiculous tiger in the taxidermy section. Looks like something out of the Stephen King movie. There are some scraggly birds nailed to tree branches with the nails clearly visible.
The only exhibition worth seeing is the ivory room. Has some nice pieces. Other than the silly dead tigers and ivory, no point in going here. It’s a pathetic excuse for a museum.

This very large museum covers several floors. It is swarming with locals and contains a bit of everything. From stuffed animals (needing significant refreshing) to sculptures, utensils, cloth, paintings, there is a bit of everything. Most things are labelled but the overall feeling is one of being overwhelmed with dated displays, As with most museums in Bangladesh, no photos allowed. It's a must see museum for an overview of Bangladesh so try to see it at the beginning of the trip. Just don't expect international standard displays.

I was most interested in the rooms on the war of liberation which were well presented but very confronting. There are graphic images of the time and some video footage.
The rest of the museum was ok but some of the dioramas are a little dated.
