I was surprised to read all the negative comments..our tour was the best..with our tour guide Mohammad Elias..in very comfortable van..so friendly..helpful and honest..we had a 5 year old boy which can make anyone crazy..but he was very patient and loving with him..we saw most of the places in plan except the ones we didn't want..he also adviced us to change our hotel in bantota and we did and it was amazing..I do recommend this guy..his number is 0094772948891.

Disappointed !
Driver was not a professional guide but rather a driver.
1) difficult to communicate
2) missed key sites, attractions on itinerary
3) not accompanied on many attractions, places of interest. Walked by myself
4) got lost driving to airport
5) dropped off at airport 4 hours before flight, tried to drop off 5 hours prior
Would not recommend

We booked through a local travel agent n Jetwing Travels was our tour operator in Sri Lanka. It was supposed to be a luxury private tour for 6 persons as we requested a transport van of our own. Our driver cum tour guide Mr Keith was mostly busy driving rather than explaining the culture and history of Sri Lanka to us. Distance from places to places was far and the trip was mainly on the road traveling. Not much attractions were covered especially the famous Sigiriya lion rock fortress which was stated in our itinerary. Keith kept taking us to shopping sites and always telling us not enough time to cover other attractions. And when we enquired more about the itinerary he was not happy. Even worst, he said we have to pay for a cultural show which in fact is already covered in the tour. Places of interests that he took us were a total disappointment like the tea garden which in fact is just a place selling Ceylon tea instead of a tea field, visiting Stilt fishing was in fact a show where fishermen were waiting for tourists to arrive, then they will climbed onto their plank stilt and charged tourists for photography which in fact again was covered in our tour itinerary. I do have to give credits for the hotels that we stayed are all good as we have requested for all 4 stars accommodation. It was our first trip to Sri Lanka and we have heard that it has beautiful scenery and history to explore but this trip was really a disappointment and to top it off, we paid premium prices for the package. We have feedback to the local agent and honestly will not recommend Jetwings Travels in Sri Lanka.

We joined a 7-day tour covering central and southern Sri Lanka in December 2015. We do not like staying in busy towns so the travel agent allowed us to customise the tour to stay in hotels quieter places.
The overall quality of the tour exceeded our expectations. Our driver Ruwan was very attentive to our needs. Most importantly, he has been driving patiently and safely, frequently giving way to pedestrians. (This is not common in Sri Lanka!). Although constrained by the itinerary, Ruwan always tried to arrange our lunch at the very best hotels available.
For a long say, it could become quite boring to have buffet breakfast/lunch/dinner every day but I guess it is a limitation due to a lack of good restaurants outside Colombo.

My husband and I booked a one week trip with Jetwing Travels. We were promised 5 star hotels, and none of the hotels we stayed at were even close to that.
The driver they assigned us kept taking us to places where he knew the owner and we were constantly pressured to buy things at the end of every "tour".
When we first arrived, we wanted to go see the Elephant orphanage as per our agreed itinerary. The driver kept on telling us that he will take us to a better orphanage where we can ride the elephants and we just arrived and therefore agreed to it. The "orphanage" he took us to had 3 elephants only! And was horrible! Later that day when I checked on trip advisor and saw pictures of the real national orphanage, I was pissed! That one had over 80 elephants and was lovely! But since I was stuck with this driver over the next week I decided not to pick a fight and to just be more cautious next time.
In Kandy, we were told that it was a beautiful city where all the heritage and culture of Sri Lanka could be found. He only took us to a gem factory where we were hassled to buy gems for nearly two hours, and a wood carving furniture factory. I didn't want either! I just wanted to visit a temple and walk down the lake. I wanted to go up and see the big white buddha, He said that the temple required a 4 wheel drive and he couldn't take us and it would take hours. Later that night I was reading again only and realised that it would have taken us 20 minutes hiking to get there! no need really for a 4 wheel drive. It was really aggitating. The driver would take us back to our hotel at 3 pm and there was NOTHING to do at the hotel.
Our next destination, we were supposed to go to Newara Eliya... I happened to remember that on our itinerary we were supposed to visit a botanical garden... and he just skipped it... i insisted that he turn back and take us to it! He told us there were no flowers there and just trees... i ignored him and told him to take us anyway... it was gorgeous! probably the highlight of my trip to Kandy....
The rest of the trip was pretty much the same... the driver wanting to take us only to certain places where he seemed to know everyone and they would always demand we buy stuff from them... and he would always want tot ake us back to the hotel early....
In Bentota, I decided I didn't want to see him and just stayed on the beach with my husband... for two days... probably the best two days of our trip...
At some point I would suggest he takes us to restaurants that had good reviews on trip advisor, and sometimes he would just try to push us to take us somewhere else! it reached a point where we would take a tuktuk just to avoid him trying to push us around.
Throughout the whole trip I kept telling him that I wanted to visit at least one temple and he kept on telling me that he would take me to a really large one... .and I also told him I wanted to go to outlet factories... and he said he would take me to a couple in colombo...
needless to say, we ended out trip and I neither saw an outlet factory (when we reached colombo he has the audacity to tell us there weren't any in sri lanka, which I know isn't true and just took us to a mega store where again he knew everyone there...) and neither did I see a single temple!
And to top it all off, he was really eager to drop us off at the airport early. He took us there more than 5 hours before our flight! and knowing that the airport security won't even let us in except 3 hours before check in! So we were stuck outside the airport security for 2 hours doing nothing with our luggage!
Thank you Jetwing Travels for a miserable trip!!
If I could give you a negative score I would have.
My recommendation to anyone is to not let any travel agency tell u what to do and just do your research on each area you will visit and not trust them. We missed alot on this trip! I should have done my homework and not depended on this travel agency to show me a good time.
Also all the food recommendations they provided us were horrible. The places we insisted on going to based on trip advisor reviews were the only good ones!

Abbiamo appena fatto un tour dello Sri Lanka accompagnati da una guida (Rohana) assegnataci da questo tour operator. Rohana è stato molto professionale, puntuale e discreto. Ci ha accolto in aeroporto e per sette giorni ci ha accompagnato nel tour facendoci conoscere questo Paese ed aiutandoci a soddisfare le nostre esigenze. Abbiamo così potuto apprezzare i meravigliosi paesaggi, l'archeologia e, grazie allo scambio continuo con Rohana, anche gli usi e costumi dei singalesi. Suggeriamo a tutti coloro che volessero conoscere lo Sri Lanka di appoggiarsi a questa agenzia.
