I have been a client of Muhlis Gunbatti for the last 30 years. Before specializing in fine textiles he sold rugs out of the same historic shop. Limited quantities but exquisite and authentic. A most honorable and gracious person. Highly recommended

Yabancı misafirlerimiz ve eşleri ile Kapalıçarşı turumuza gam ederken bu mağaza dikkatimizi çekti,halı ve geleneksel giyim ve kuşam malzemeleri satıyorlar.Arkadaşlarımız içeri girdi ve bazı ürünlerin fiyatlarıyla ilgili pazarlık yapmaya başladılar,daha çok giyim kuşam üzerine birkaç parça aldılar,fiyatlarında oldukça iyi olduğunu söylediler.Tabii neye göre iyi bilemiyorum.Bayağı bir indirim de yapmışlar.Alan razı satan memnun,demek ki herşey yolunda,daha ne olsun ki?!...

There was so many people and so many shops in the Grand Bazaar after five minutes we closed our guide book and wandered around, simply to take in the sights and sounds as they came. We wanted to buy a token of our trip to Turkey, but so many of the shops were selling generic souvenirs--no difference from one shop to another--until we passed by Muhlis Gunbatti and paused. Inside we discovered exquisite textiles, elaborate embroidery and wonderful antique costumes. All of it is not cheap, of course, but the very hospitable owner generously let us view his treasures for half an hour or more. This experience itself was priceless. My companion and I ended up buying one item each, again, not cheap, but something we really liked so much that for the rest of our trip in Turkey we didn't feel the need to go and shop for souvenirs. So rather than ending up buying mountains of knickknacks we left with our one item from Muhlis Gunbatti (and a few boxes of lokum for our friends). For a shopaholic like myself this was a new experience, but if each of the countries I travel to has a lovely shop like this one, I can't complain.
