These guys were absolutely horrible.
I booked the Ephesus Sightseeing Tour through Viator. They used Neon Tours locally. I sent them a direct email to confirm, which they did. Then I waited for my pickup info...nothing. I emailed them, they didn’t respond. I called them but got a recorded line. I called them the morning of, to confirm, and they wouldn’t pick up. I called their “emergency line” and the guy said to call the office. They responded to my last email that said the tour was canceled because of low attendance, 22 minutes before the start of the tour! I was furious! And of course, they couldn’t have cared less.
I only had one day planned in the area, and even so, seeing Ephesus was a big part of my trip to Turkey. This tour company nearly destroyed that plan. Luckily my superb hotel (Ilayda Advantgarde) found me another tour, already in progress, so I zipped over and joined them mid-tour.
I heard Neon Tours is a big company and they do this kind of thing all the time.
I told Viator Tour and they said they never got any info from Neon Tours. If Viator keeps doing business with Neon Tours, they will suffer with bad reviews. Book with them at your peril

Eight of us booked this tour from our cruise ship and have been delighted with everything.
We were collected from the cruise dock immediately upon disembarkation and taken to our new fully air conditioned bus.
Our guide was excellent - his English perfect and knowledge out of this world as nothing we asked him stumped him.
The tour of the ruins and the terraced houses could not have been better as he placed us in shade where we had to stop to hear about the next part of the ruins and always showed us the best views.
We did not want to waste time in a village which was part of the tour and asked that this be missed as we all agreed we then went to a carpet warehouse By our request and had an amazing tour and explanation of all the ways carpets were made etc. I have been to several carpet tours in many countries but this was the best ever,.
We were given a large selection of drinks and nibbles complimentary which served as our lunch happily. Then the visit to the leather works for a fashion show and fittings for those who were interested in purchasing. Although I was not interested in purchasing a garment the fashion and choices of colours of supple leather was great and interesting. We were easily back to the cruise ship in the time required so did not have to worry about missing the ship.
The driver for the day was also amazing and how hen managed the bus in those packed and over parked street was incredible.

Our experience with "About Ephesus Tour", and especially with our guide, Selcuk Cetin, was truly wonderful!!
First of all, we were not staying close to Ephesus, we were all the way in Bodrum, and the company agreed to arrange a private transport for us (me and my husband) for the day! This not only made seeing Ephesus possible on our trip, but it also made for a much richer, more informative experience than had we found a way to go by ourselves.
We were picked up first thing in the morning by our guide, Selcuk, and our driver. Although the trip from Ephesus to Bodrum is rather long, the car was very nice and Selcuk was talkative the whole way - teaching us about Turkey and even arranging for an interesting stop and break during the drive. He also arranged for us to stop and grab breakfast, since our hotel wasn't serving that early, which was probably not convenient for him but meant a lot to us.
Once we reached Ephesus, Selcuk made sure we saw all the important sites - the House of Mary, the ruins of Ephesus, and the Terrace Houses (an extra fee but totally worth it, probably favorite part!). He spoke wonderful English, had really deep knowledge of everything we were seeing, helped guide us away from crowds/lines, knew all the good photo spots, and even gave us time every now and then to be by ourselves. I know that had we gone on our own, we would have had a nice time but would have walked away not having learned much and surely not having an appreciation for how truly incredible Ephesus is.
Selcuk also arranged for two great stops after our tour. We visited a ceramics factory/shop and a carpet weaving school, where we had a spectacular lunch. While we did end up buying things in both places, it didn't feel like there was a "hard sell" or like we had been brought there to buy. Both visits were really informative and helped deepen our appreciation for the country, the people, and the beautiful things that are made there.
And, as something truly special, we had mentioned earlier in the day that it was my husband's 30th birthday. After hearing that, Selcuk secretly arranged for the staff at the carpet weaving school to get him a cake! After we finished lunch and were learning about how carpets are made, the whole staff came out with a cake, candles, and even sang Happy Birthday. It was so "above and beyond" and I was touched that Selcuk had gone to the trouble and helped make his birthday even more special.
Overall, this was one of our favorite days on our trip to Turkey! The company clearly hires incredible tour guides and takes great pride in providing informative and valuable experiences. I'd definitely recommend it to anyone making the visit!!

This is one of the most incredible places I have ever had the opportunity to visit! We first went to 'Mary's House' in the hills above Ephesus. It is where the Apostle St John the Evangelist is believed to have lived in later years and readers will recollect that on the cross Jesus told John to look after his mother and that John took Mary into his home from that day on. It is therefore where Mary is believed to have lived out her later years. As a committed Christian I found the place VERY moving indeed.
We then went to the ruins of Ephesus itself. What amazed us on arrival was the sheer scale of the place. Ephusus was apparently destroyed about 1500 years ago by earthquakes and landslides/mudslides. About 10% has so far been restored and re-built and this area goes on for over a mile. Ther is still a lot of work going on and our guide explaned to us that if we reyrn in a few years time we will find a great deal more has been restored. I could not help but imagine St Paul expounding the good news of the Gospel as he marched around the City. Truly amazing!!
One tip - we were fortunate that we were in a small group and our guide was able to get us there (and to Mary's House) before many of the coach parties and larger crowds arrived - but they had clearlly arrived before we left. They are popular attractions - if you get the chance to get there earlier in the day it is worth doing so. Don't reckon Ephesus is a 'Quicky Visit' - it isn't - allow yourself time to see it.

A wonderful visit to the area of Ephesus - a place of pilgrimage for many Christians. The last home of Mary, the Mother of Jesus. Special masses are said for all to attend in the open air and the wall if wishes is truly touching. Well worth a visit if you get a chance.

brilliant day out well worth a look for 30 lira with all the history, we decided to go ourselves without a tour guide so it wouldn't take ages as we had other trips to do on the same day, we booked it down on the harbour with a taxi company that does very good deals

We stepped into a small Travel agency in Istanbul named Bonita Tour under leadership of Selim Sarica. He arranged a tour to Kusadaci, Ephesus and Pukkamale during three days. Very price-worthy. Flights, hotel, meals and transports including shuttles worked excellently. Selim even got back a lost overcoat at a bus, fr0m Kusadaci to Istanbul. Thanks!
