We only had a day and a half in Eliat and wanted to go to the best snorkelling spots. All the review on Trip Advisor and other websites were quite dated so we weren’t sure what to expect. On our half day which was first we went to Migdalor Beach which we loved (you can read our review) as based on the write ups we thought we should spend more time at Coral Beach Nature Reserve. But that was a mistake. First thing to note we were there in September and it was quite windy and there was a strong current. So if you are snorkelling with children then Coral Beach Nature Reserve is probably a good choice as there are ropes everywhere preventing you from going near the coral and you can hold onto them so you can pull yourself back against the current if you need to.
You won’t see a lot of fish or much coral as there are too many people and all the coral is roped off but there are some roped off shallow areas which smaller children will like. In theory there are two jettys which you can use to begin your snorkel from but one appears to be permanently broken. Which means you have to swim back against the current.
If you are a keen snorkeller don’t use the jetty it’s overcrowded with people with kids and you won’t see anything. Instead turn right at the entrance and go to the very end of the beach. There is an entry from the beach and far fewer people use it so it’s much more peaceful. There isn’t much coral to see most of the reef is roped off so you are just swimming along the side. There weren’t many fish compared to Migalador beach. So for the entrance fee I wouldn’t recommend this beach unless you have never seen coral before. On the plus side there was plenty of shade and free chairs.
You can’t pay cash to go on the local buses which is annoying. A taxi from the Eliat museum cost us 40 shekels and it was easy to flag one down on the way back.

Bello fondale anche se dobbiamo starci un po’ lontani dai coralli, molto affollato e difficile di nuotare “in santa pace”, mare pulitissimo, pochi pesci, ho preferito la princess Beach!

Riserva naturale, il biglietto di ingresso costa 35Nis a testa. 18 per gli israeliani e i bambini. Ne vale però la pena per lo spettacolo subacqueo che la natura qui offre. Inoltre ci sono delle zone di ombra e la possibilità di prendere delle sedie e farsi una doccia. Il mare qui è davvero pieno di vita e di colori. Dai pontili si acceee diretamente alla barriera corallina e si può fare snorkeling all’interno di un percorso delineato dalle boe.

Coral Beach is overrated. It is only possible to go into the sea restrictively in some places and even there, barriers constantly show you the limits. (Which is understandable in terms of environmental protection). But because of this and the meagre fish population, snorkeling is very boring, unspectacular and nowhere near as attractive as the marketing claims it to be. The gastronomic offer is also limited to French fries, chicken nuggets and onion rings from a hot air fryer...

Parco con fee di ingresso, dispone di tettoie che riparano dal forte sole e sedie.
Strutture domani e sabbia pulite.
Non dispone di servizio di bagnìno.
Zonò dei coralli che rappresenta una lunga striscia a 5/10m dalla riva. Peccato non poterci fare snorkelling sopra, e si solo a distanza di 2 metri oltre cordone di delimitazione.
Si vedono pesci colorati, ma non aspettatevi fissa cosa.
Strutture domani e sabbia pulite.

Lieu sale et très mal entretenu, je comprends pas qu'on fasse payer 7 euros un tel endroit, la mer appartient à tout le monde, en plus à 17h15 en juin ils étaient déjà fermés, apparement le travail c'est pas leur truc ils préfèrent jouer les beaux, venez avec masque et tuba, allez à côté vous verrez autant de poissons et gratuitement

I came to the Coral Beach Nature Reserve after visiting Aqaba, and let me say, it was highly disappointing. On the Jordanian coast you can walk into the sea from literally anywhere and be surrounded by amazing coral reefs. And all for free! I had a fantastic experience on that side.
Conversely, what I had planned to be a fantastic few hours at this resort turned into a nightmare. The lady at the front desk was imminently rude and confrontational and charged extortionate prices + deposits for everything. Not to mention that flippers are not included in the snorkelling rental. You have to pay extra for them.
I rented a locker and about a minute after locking my stuff, realised that I had lost my key. I looked all over the deck for it but couldn't find it. Mistakes happen. But the staff were really horrible about it and made me feel like an idiot. They charged me for another key and deposit in addition to a damages fee. After spending about an hour and a half looking for the key and dealing with all of this, I finally got to go in the water.
At this point I felt very unwelcome and was also really stressed for time. I tried to keep an open mind, as I was looking forward to coming here. However, the snorkelling was underwhelming at best. It was not made clear before hand that you aren't allowed onto the reef. You are only allowed to swim a designated loop around the edge of the reef. Not above it, but outside it (over sand). The path was really narrow and when tour groups went in the water it was impossible to swim.
When I checked out, I was told that someone had found my missing key just after I had lost it. Which explains why I couldn't find it. And although my damages payment was returned, the price of the second key I took out was not, which I thought was pretty stingy. It represented the general attitude towards visitors.
The Red Sea is full of beautiful coral reefs. These guys just cornered off one of them and trap tourists to come and look at it. If you are in Eilat, don't waste your time and money.

The beach itself was very clean and well kept. We went snorkelling and rented a mask and the snorkel. The view was so pretty and the snorkelling was so much fun! Definitely a must see/do.

hi, i need some information. We are two close friends for the Red Sea and we would like to snorkel. the problem is that we have no experience in this regard. can we still do it? Is it close to the city of Eilat? if yes, how much does it cost? Thanks for your attention.

La struttura è fuori dal centro di Eilat ma di raggiungere facilmente con il bus oppure in macchina con parcheggio ovviamente a pagamento in zona. Non ricordo quanto abbiamo pagato per l’ingresso ma sicuramente non una cifra iperbolica, ti dico che ne vale la pena anche se la barriera non è al livello di quella di Sharm. Te le consiglio ne vale la pena

Do you need a reservation either to get into the facility or to go snorkeling or to rent equipment? I was planning to go during Sukkot, which I think might be a busy time of year

You don’t need reservation, snorkeling equipment can be rented in the reserve or in various dive schools around
Just be prepared for some crowd as Sukot is the last vacation before winter

What are your thoughts about a 9 1/2 year old who can swim reasonably well for her age but who does not have any experience snorkeling in the past.would one expect her to snorkel well enough to appreciate the corals that are present?

When we were there recently a few younger children were snorkeling and having a marvellous time. I would definitely recommend it and it's very safe for children.

There are lockers. This should be asked at the box office and paid separately. The cost of 30 shekels.
חיפאית. לפני כמה שנים המלתחות/שירותים היו סגורים לשימוש בשל שיפוצים. נאמר לי ע"י עובדי השמורה, - שעומדים לשפץ את המלתחות ואף קיימת תוכנית ליצור סוג של "מעלית שתרד למיים עבור נכים". בעבר צללתי עם בלונים, היום עם קביים ולא יכולה לשחות. האם המעלית הוקמה? מהן האפשרויות של נכה עם קביים לצפות בדגים עם שנורקל? תודה.

מאוגוסט האחרון לא ראיתי מעלית.אך המלתחות והשרותים פעילים.יש גישה לקו החוף ויש מה לראות במים הרדודים.יש מעיין שכשוכיות שמלאות בדגים .שווה לנסות החוף נגיש וידידותי עד כמה שאני זוכרת.תהני!

I can’t remember if there is wifi there but there is private beach restaurant 500 meters next to it and they have it . But it was 2 years ago so things might have changed by now . Enjoy your trip .
I would like to know if snorkeling/diving FINS can also be rented.
Also, they mention "floating device". Is this a BC/jacket type device or not ? (We have a non-swimmer among us - I know there are ropes, but this person would feel more comfortable wearing a life-jacket type floating device).
