Accueil très sympathique des hôtesses, cependant j’ai été surprise de ne pas avoir de plan du musée. Il est donc difficile de cibler ses points d’intérêts. Les tableaux impressionnistes ne bénéficient pas d’un éclairage à la hauteur des oeuvres. Un couloir menait a un autre bâtiment… ma visite s’est arrêtée en raison du manque d’information. Je suis restée sur une déception.

I spent a day at this fantastic art gallery. The collections are well thought through and the building flows really well. Staff were extremely welcoming to a foreign visitor and provided lots of advice. The cafe is excellent. The gallery has some very surprising and fascinating paintings, especially from Chagall.

No puedes irte de Tel Aviv sin ver este museo. Nos encanto, aunque las obras son muy diversas, es curioso el enfoque dado al arte.

This museum is no longer kid friendly. It had no interactive exhibits like it used to. It was a major disappointment and actually scared my kids with some of its weird and freaky exhibits.

The Tel Aviv Museum of Art is an amazing art museum in Tel Aviv, Israel. The museum focuses on modern and contemporary art from Israel and around the world.
The Tel Aviv Museum of Art was established in 1932 in the former home of Tel Aviv's first mayor, Meir Dizengoff. He donated the property in memory of his wife, Zina, following her death in 1930. On May 14,1948, 250 delegates gathered at the museum for the historic signing of the Israeli Declaration of Independence. In 1971, the original art museum became Independence Hall and the museum, which was expanding, outgrew its initial space and was relocated to 27 Shaul Hamelech Boulevard. Today it includes a sculpture garden, a youth wing and spaces for viewing films and listening to classical music. Over 1 million people visit annually.
Two large works hang in the entrance foyer to welcome visitors to the galleries. Yaacov Agam's "Pace of Time" is stunning. Make sure to walk back and forth to see the changing images. American pop artist Roy Lichtenstein created a giant two-panel mural specifically for the entry.
The collection has an impressive collection of Impressionist and Post-Impressionist works by Pierre-Auguste Renoir, Claude Monet, Paul Gauguin, Vincent van Gogh, Camille Pissarro, Edgar Degas, Auguste Rodin and Berthe Morisot. Loved the large display of unique paintings by Marc Chagall. Other masters include Gustav Klimt, Wassily Kandinsky, a selection of works by Pablo Picasso from different periods, and Surrealistic works by Max Ernst, Salvador Dalí, and Joan Miró. America artists like Jackson Pollock, Mark Rothko and Georgia O'Keefe are also featured.
One section of the museum displays the history of Israeli art and its origins among local artists of the early twentieth century to current works.
The Collection includes many masterpieces. Loved portrait of Friedericke Maria Beer by the Austrian artist Gustav Klimt. Klimt also painted the "Woman in Gold," which was featured in the movie about restoring art stolen during the Holocaust to their rightful owners. Marc Chagall's "Woman Fish" is so imaginative. Picasso's "Child in a Chair (Maia)" is playful and unexpected.
Interesting to see early and rare works by the Russian avant-garde artist Alexander Archipenko. In 1933, the German-Jewish collector Erich Goeritz lent the collection to the Museum, thereby saving it, since most of Archipenko's works were damaged or destroyed in World War I bombings, and later declared "degenerate art" by the Nazis. It not until after the war in 1947 that Archipenko himself learned that the Tel Aviv Museum has such an important collection of his early works. Today, it has the largest and most important collection of early Archipenko works in the world.
Go outside to view the sculpture garden or to explore the Tiny House. Watch a movie. Listen to a classical recital.

The collection is great. I am an art buff who has been to many museums in major US cities and Europe. Great collection of impressionist and post impressionist art.
But.
The monitors are the rudest and most interfering people ever. We could not even lean on an empty wall. If we looked at art too closely they shooed us away. Please please fix this.

On a Shabbat, Tel Aviv was hustling and bustling but public transportation was not working. No big deal, we easily walked to theTel Aviv Art Museum, which is luckily opened on Saturday. I spent close to two hours in this amazing museum. Their collection of the old masters is not rich, but I never expected to see so many fabulous works of impressionists and post-impressionists…Chagall, Matisse, Van Gogh, Cezanne, Renoir, Picasso - just to name a few. Even one painting of my favorite artist, Toulouse-Lautrec, is there. The museum has excellent lighting, which is often not too perfect even in the most famous galleries in the world.
Then I went to see the exhibit of very interesting painter, Pinchas (Maryan) Burstein. He is a Holocaust survivor and his bold and poignant art reflects his sufferings, pain and lost hope. Note: his art is very explicit and some images are disturbing.
The museum building is a fine example of modern architecture and always has a variety of interesting exhibits.

El museo es muy lindo pero son muy estrictos con el horario . Llegamos una hora antes del cierre y como no habíamos sacado on line la entrada nadie nos la quiso vender y la empleada administrativa ya no estaba

Le bâtiment le plus récent ( une dizaine d’années) est dand la lignée de ce qu’on trouve depuis le Guggenheim de Bilbao c’est-à-dire des lieux spectaculaires qu’on peut photographier sous toutes les coûtures tant à l’intérieur qu’à l’extérieur parce qu’on y perd tous ses repères, parce qu’on a des points de vue vertigineux, parce qu’il faut épater le visiteur en lui donnant le tournis.
Le seul hic est que ce parti-pris produit des labyrinthes dans lesquels on ne sait jamais où on en est de la visite, ce qui est encore plus embêtant quand aucun plan du lieu n’existe ni sur papier ni sur d’éventuels panneaux.
Une fois ces reproches faits il n’y a plus que des compliments à ajouter : on va d’éblouissement en étonnement face à la succession d’œuvres uniques, rares, atypiques, etc. Le Van Gogh est pratiquement inconnu, le Toulouse-Lautrec d’une douceur rare, le Klimt des dernières années de sa vie est japonisant, le Gino Severini est presque pointillisme et montre des danseurs, le Zadkine est complètement à part dans son oeuvre, un Ensor qui montre un intérieur, des Signac , Chagall, Van Dongen, Boudin à se pâmer, un Matisse d’une grande douceur de beaux Max Ernst de ceux qui font rêver, un Cros, un Seurat probablement préparatoire à une de ses deux pièces maîtresses, un Peschtein, des Gleizes et puis un beau Tanguy, une collection unique d’Archipenko, il faudrait dix lignes de plus pour énumérer tout ce qui mérite le voyage.
Dans la partie art d’Israel il faut voir la rétrospective du talentueux Guy Bener qui allie humour, techniqueS, imagination, conception poussée et créativité dans ses petits grands films.

я видела, что дети разных возрастов занимались маленькими группками в той части музея, где детские экспозиции. Наверное, на сайте музея нужно искать информацию о графике работы и возрасте детей

Гарри Реканати родился в 1918 году в семье Леона Реканати, который приехал в Израиль из Салоники в 1930-х годах и основал в стране деловую империю а также банк «Дисконт». В начале 50-х годов Гарри Реканати переехал в Женеву, где руководил семейным бизнесом, но в 1970-м рассорился со своим братом Рафаэлем и, порвав контакты с семьей, сосредоточился на своем банковском бизнесе. Он владел шестью языками и по-старомодному верил в то, что банки созданы для того, чтобы помогать людям, а не заниматься махинациями. О его личности говорит тот факт, что в музеях Реканати в Кейсарии вы не найдете даже киоска с сувенирами и прохладительными напитками (серьезный источник дохода для музеев), и что, согласно его указанию, его музеи не получают дотации ни от государства, ни от частных лиц.Покинув Израиль в середине прошлого века, Гарри Реканати сосредоточил банковская деятельность на Швейцарии, Великобритании и Южной Америке.

Это требует от руководителей фонда проявлять осторожность. Например, подлинная картина Пикассо, равно как и ряд других ценных картин, хранятся в Женеве, потому что страхование, транспортировка и охрана таких работ стоят очень дорого.
