A great wildlife and natural semi national park in Ajlun, 40 kilometers far from the capital Amman, Jordan. Animals who sacrifice in other countries brought to this place for treatment and caring. A wonderful crew who run after the sanctuary. We saw many bears, lions, hyenas, bengal tigers, cheetah and many monkeys. Amazing visit with detailed information from our guide Firas Odaibat.

this is a must visit place in Jordan if you love wildlife. the place is amazing and the animals are very well looked after. friendly staff and very professional. i recommend the early morning visit-especially in winter- to avoid the harsh sun and see the animals before the sleep . i can not thank enough the guide for his time and company

I went today with my family to Al Mawa park and we had really very nice experience - with our guide Firas who explained us the sad stories of eventually rescued animals from all around the world, but mostly from Syria, Iraq, Palestine, Pakistan or Jordan. All 84 species living in the park have now calm and safe life. The tour takes about 1 hour. You will park in the main part of the park where you can enjoy tasty espresso and have a small snack. The ranger´s bus will bring you then to the protected area with all animals.

The animals look like they are well taken care of in the sanctuary. They give you a guided tour of about an hour and tell you a little bit about the animals and from where they were rescued from. Its a nicer concept than just a regular zoo and you feel like you are contributing to a good cause.
Special thanks to Ahmed who translated the tour in English since we were the only non Arabic speaking visitors.
Only suggestion for improvement would be to give a little more time at each stop.

It was very nice experience. People seemed to really care about the animals. Our guide was very knowledgeable and caring.
All those stories behind rescued animals that were lucky to be saved and brought there.
The place is clean and organized. Animals are caged, of course, but given lots of place to have a decent life in captivity and be taken care of.
The place also has a nice little playground for the kids at the entrance.
Definitely worth visiting if you’re around.

I visited this beautiful place on a Friday with my children and other family members. At first I had some doubts about going, thinking that it would be a worthless trip from Amman. The minute We arrived we were greeted by a very friendly guy who gave us a brief about the place and information about the tour. We purchased our tickets (Very reasonable price) and then stayed in the coffee shop for few minutes until the time of our tour. The coffee shop is very clean and has a wide range of drinks and snacks. The view was amazing and the kids enjoyed there time playing in the playground with swings and stuff. Our tour time has come so they invited us to take the bus to go to the reserve area which is one 5 min away. We arrived there and an amazing and friendly tour guide was waiting for us (Zeid Al Otoum) very nice guy, extremely friendly, knowledgeable, smiling the whole time and funny. We started the walking tour and started watching the animals. The area is very clean and well organized. We saw bears, wolves, raccoons, lions, tigers and monkeys. The animals are in a very good shape and clean which means that they are very well treated. They were also active wondering around freely in there huge areas. I was so happy that they have enough space to move as if they are free in the forest or jungle and not in small cages like some other places and zoos. We finished our tour which took around an hour and then were taken back by bus to the main campus. I would like to thank everyone who was responsible of making our family trip so wonderful.

Świetne miejsce. Zadbane. Zwierzęta, które tu przebywają są uratowane. To nie jest ZOO to jest azyl dla tylko zwierząt. Znalazłam to miejsce przez przypadek. Czytałam artykuł o Panu Marku Treli i tak postanowiłam przy okazji pobytu w Jordanii odwiedzić to miejsce. Dziękuję Księżniczce Alia bint Hussein i wszystkim zaangażowanym aby to miejsce było rajem dla zwierząt na ziemi.

I wouldn’t necessarily recommend going out of your way to visit this place but if you’re visiting Jerash or the Ajloun castle it’s a nice stop in-between. The purpose of this place is very respectable and despite the entry price being a little high for foreigners (10 JOD) it contributes to a good cause. There weren’t many foreign visitors there so the tour was in Arabic, but our guide, Ahmad Abu Musabbeh did a good job translating everything for us.
4 stars as unfortunately the organisation was a little questionable - we called the reserve one day in advance to book a tour and we were told to come anytime, when actually the tours are at specific hours. Thus we ended up waiting at the place over an hour before joining the Arabic speaking tour - not a huge issue but not ideal.

The only one of its kind in the region, totally different concept of just a zoo. They save animals lives and tells you their stories.
The staff is knowledgeable and well educated about wildlife aspects, they speak Arabic and English.
The experience overall exceeded our expectations.
