It was nice to have a good draft beer while playing with the games of my childhood. They have all the old consoles of NIntento, Sega, etc. Very good time for the nostalgic.

8-bit was a pretty good (mostly) retro gaming bar that has a wide selection of video game systems from older generations. There are even newer systems (people were playing FIFA on the Xbox One and Mario Kart on the newer Nintendo console).
The beer was surprisingly good for Beijing, however the servers knew little to no English and the place didn't take major credit cards so after we were had a couple of beers we had to leave because we had no cash, and could not figure out where an ATM would be close by.

This bar has everything: beer, a decent burger, quality tunes and Super Mario Kart on the Super Nintendo. What more do you need?
This is a great bar to meet up with friends and enjoy a nostalgic trip to the glorious game playing days of your youth.
Be warned though, you've probably got a mate who button bashes on Street Fighter and ends up beating you by just using Blanka's electric shock attack. It is massively annoying but the bar cannot be help accountable for unsportsmanlike conduct.

The facility inside 8-Bit is very nice. This place is well-equipped. They have more than half a dozen CRT (old school) televisions with a wide assortment of retro game consoles, including N64, Sega Genesis, Super Nintendo, and more. The beer is excellent as well, including draft IPA.
However, when I went it was in the middle of the afternoon, when there was literally no one there. The staff was strangely unfriendly considering I was the sole customer, so I left after a single beer. For that reason I would only advise going to 8-Bit in the evening, preferably on a weekend.

Was meant to be going to an Irish bar but changed plans when we heard about this place, near, snes, sega, N64, Wii, playstation 4 it's a gamers paradises even if you don't like gaming the roof top is a relaxing place, the only down part of the bar is it is more costly than most bars in Beijing but still worth, plus the staff were friendly always a plus

Local, impeccably clean, friendly place with an attentive bar owner where you can play Street Fighter VS X-Men while drinking a cold draft. Kind of exactly what you need.
It's easy to find and a lot of fun even if you're not playing video games. Crowd can be quite diverse. No smoking inside, so expect a small crowd gathered on the stoop, puffing away.

Nous avons passé une soirées inoubliables dans le 8 Bit Café de Pékin, on avait à notre disposition des consoles rétro genre Super Nintendo, Nintendo 64, Neo Geo et cerise sur la gâteau on peut y jouer le temps qu'on veut. Y avait un groupe de japonais et d'occidentaux c'était vraiment génial. Le boissons sont plutôt abordables.

If you're thumbs have made a full recovery from the severe bruising of 90's gaming, sort your life out, don a Tanooki Suit and head to 8-Bit for a much needed 1up. Play on a Snes, Nes, N64, Megadrive and an arcade machine all rammed with classic games.
8-Bit has a wide selection of beverages including themed drinks, I highly recommend a 'Super Mario'. My only problem is that I didn't find this place sooner.

If you're looking for something more than streetfood, hutongs and aimlessly wandering around Houhai or Tiananmen, then a visit to 8-bit is well-worth your time. Who doesn't love hanging out with their friends, drinking cheap beer / shots / specialty drinks, playing all of their favourite consoles from the better years? Whether you live in Beijing, or are just passing through, it's a great place to hang, meet other gaming types and reminisce over a youth well-spent. Get there soon, before the hordes begin stealing all the playing time!
