One of the most identifiable landmarks of Chongqing. We visited both during day and night. At night the lighting is just amazing. The best pictures are from the bridge nearby. Ask your taxi driver.
It has multiple levels like the city so wear something comfortable footwear and be ready to walk and climb stairs.
Food is very touristic so if you are looking for authentic food you can give it a miss.

This is the most iconic landmark in Chongqing. A visit to Chongqing wouldn’t be complete without visiting the Hongya Cave.
Please visit this only during the night when all the lights are on. A very instagramable experience.

洪崖洞是一个非常值得去观看的重庆景点，在傍晚的时候会有一个灯光秀，灯光秀会持续四个小时左右，可以在附近看江景夜景以及吃火锅，是一个非常值得来的景点，要是有想来重庆游玩的可以联系我，我是一名喜欢旅行的学生，我就在重庆居住

I don’t know how to describe the place, between an imperial period-style construction and a Disney attraction. A leisure and shopping center, with good restaurants, in one of them we took an excellent hot pot. Whatever it is, it goes out of the ordinary, with an incredible festive and bustling atmosphere. Highly recommended.

Simply dazzling array of lights at night. A must go if you’re in Chongqing. Just be ready for the crowds, and try to get onto the bridge before 7pm.

It is simply one of those noisy, very crowded mall- tourism hot spots with many LEDs at the riverside. the shops and the food spots are all alike. „The cave“ doesnt add much to the place but many stairs and narrow pathways. If you have been to those areas/ places, you can skip it. U dont miss anything. If its ur first tourism hotspot, be prepared to squeeze in and dont expect to much.

Unique building by the river in Chongqing city. This is one of the most popular tourist spots here. Of course it is very busy with tourists. From the top of the building we can see a pretty good view of the river.
At night from a distance it is interesting because it is bathed in lights.
We didn't visit it ourselves at night, only saw it from our hotel.

Basically a commercial tourist shopping area built within a historic ancient architecture. Built on stilts over various winding & ascending levels & super brightly lit up. Its excellent location just opposite the waterfront creates a nice beautiful atmosphere ( with all the colorful lit up & LED displays buildings & ferries) and adds to its attraction . Great place for photo taking. Extremely packed with crowds especially on the opposite side of the waterfront. Note that all the lights including the waterfront buildings & bridges shut off at 11pm. The uppermost part ( stilts) leads to the main road of the city center. So this place can also be accessed by walking from the city centre side, without climbing up from the bottom. Do not come during the daytime. This is a night time attraction.

Unique eleven floors of stilted buildings, designed after ancient Chinese architecture. Looks especially awesome when lit at night. It was extremely crowded with locals and tourists on my weekend evening walk.

You can alight at Linjiangmen Station metro station from metro line 2 and leave from exit A and walk around 700m
Or alight at Xiaoshizi Station metro station from metro line 1 and 6 and leave from exit 6 and walk around 700m.
The cave is quite prominent, near landmarks like a unique shape Arts Centre.

I can't answer 100% but over Chinese New Year expect everything to be closed at least for the first day as it is the big national holiday.
