Not the best island but ok, you can go to spend/ lose some time but nothing to much to do or to see.
Around nice traditional people and traditional places- prices ok better the Hong Kong or macau , all fine quiet place
Best bakery find in - delicious dessert and cheap

Lovely island just 30 minutes and a world away from HK. Easy walks, great views and deserted beaches. We walked, had some lunch and looked around. Half day is plenty

This small island does not have as many people as Cheung Chau and Lamma Island.
There are many open spaces and paths
So it’s very comfortable for a family of small and medium-sized families to come and walk around.
The restaurant here is also very good and feels very chill.

A visit to the small island of Peng Chau this month. Always a pleasure, stuck firmly in a bygone era it remains a hugely nostalgic part of Hong Kong life. Only half and hour by ferry from Central, the island is small and easy to explore.

Peng Chau Island is a very easy day-trip from Central Pier #6. Ferries go daily and go direct to the island, a quick 30min trip. On the fast ferry, we could sit outside on the top deck which was a nice way to travel.
HIKING – It’s a tiny island so none of the hiking trails are terribly strenuous. The Peng Yu Path is an easy and very scenic, looped trail around the beaches and coastline, past the Lung Mo temple and Old Fisherman’s Rock. The longer 7km Family Trail hike will take you around the whole island and a steep trail leads to Finger Hill which is the highest point on the island.
FOOD – The few restaurants are clustered around the village and ferry. Don’t expect the same range of seafood restaurants that you get at Lamma or Cheung Chau islands. There are still a few nice places Hoi King Seafood or Kee Sum Café but beware of island timing. Don't do what we did and leave it too late for lunch. In hindsight, we should have timed our hike to be back at the main village earlier. We arrived back around 3pm by which time, everything was shut or shutting.
DON’T MISS - A quirky highlight of our trip was visiting the old leather factory. I have written a separate review on it but it is a must-see. The converted factory is now a wonderfully whacky outdoor gallery with free-form sculpture, gardens, a fish and tortoise pond, recycled ‘junk’ installations and artwork. It’s amazing and an absolute must if you have kids with you. Entry is free but you can contribute via donation boxes.

One of Hong Kong's smaller islands which makes for an easy and great day out. The atmosphere is decidedly old-style Hong Kong and yet only half an hour by ferry from the high-rise modernity of Central. Walking around the island can take from three to four hours although there's plenty of quaint alleys to explore nearer the ferry pier including a quirky artist's area. The northern part of the island comprises many market gardens while the middle is predominantly residential and commercial, the south is mainly countryside and includes the island's only real hill (Finger Hill) at approx. 90 metres elevation.

We recently spent a day on Peng Chau to enjoy some rural environs and a bit of hiking. This is a popular day trip destination for Hong Kongers looking to escape the chaos of the city in favour of the slower pace of life found on the outlying islands. You can reach Peng Chau from Central Pier 6 on Hong Kong Island and from Mui Wo ferry pier on Lantau Island.
Peng Chau is around 1 sq. km and easy to hike the 7km Island trail that circles the island and crisscrosses various sections of both the north and south sections of Peng Chau. You'll see some interesting temples, evidence of the islands past thriving factories of the 20th-century, coastal areas, beaches, wetlands, interesting geological landmarks and an interesting local village in the centre of the island, near the main ferry pier.
There are few eateries on Peng Chau as well as a Welcomme supermarket if you need a drink or snack during your visit. Note that ferries are pretty busy by late morning and returning to Central in mid-afternoon. Something to keep in mind if you prefer to travel during less busy and crowded times while we remain in the pandemic.
