You can see quite a lot in a short time by walking along Hollywood Rd. It runs between Central and Sheung Wan and the highlights range from colonial history to antiques, street art and traditional temples.
i) TAI KWUN CENTRE - This is a good starting point. A newly restored complex of colonial buildings, it includes free historical exhibitions inside the old magistracy and Victoria Gaol, the JC gallery, several shops, restaurants and bars. From here, if you head past the Mid-Levels escalator, it’s about a 10 min walk to the Man Mo Temple.
ii) ANTIQUES - once famous as a centre of antiques, I’m not sure if Hollywood Rd can still make that claim. However there are still a large number of galleries and antique shops, selling anything from high-end antique furniture to Mao memorabilia.
iii) STREET ART - I particularly like the colourful street art. Organisations like HKWalls have attracted international and local artists, who have used the city walls as an open-air canvas. Most instagrammable, is the popular Graham St mural on the side wall of the G.O.D. shop.
iv) MAN MO TEMPLE - Built in 1842, this is one of HK’s oldest temples and is free to enter. If you’re only seeing one temple, then this is a good one to choose. It’s large and colourful, with a haze of smoky incense and giant spiralling incense coils hanging from the ceiling.
v) CAT ST - A slight detour across the road, will take you away from Hollywood Rd down to Cat St market, an open-air antiques and bric-a-brac market lane. You’ll find trinkets and treasures ranging from Mao statues to movie posters, jade, old watches and mah jong sets. I like to look out for the blue and white ginger jars that you can often find here at reasonable prices.

香港中環荷李活道60號地下現为一间叫"公利真料行蔗水"的涼茶店; 该舊建築物樓高3層，古味泱然，相信在香港僅存不多類似樓房。
相信好幾十年前，該處前方無阻擋，可遠望维多利亞港。

Una strada molto caratteristica perché si può vivere l'atmosfera della città prima del nuovo assetto urbanistico che ne ha stravolto radicalmente l'aspetto originale in quasi tutta la città.
Si trova nella parte più antica del centro di HK dove c'è un'alta concentrazione di cose da vedere. Il primo edifico storico che si incontra, è la vecchia stazione di polizia, un edificio in stile neoclassico costruito nel 1919 che dal 2004 è stato dichiarato monumento. Si può anche arrivare da li ad uno dei tempi più antichi della città, quello di Man Mo Temple.
La via è piena di molti negozi d'antiquariato di vario genere seppur quasi tutti con prezzi proibitivi. Una strada che vale sicuramente la pena di percorrere.
Assolutamente da tenere in considerazione il progetto "Old Town Central" lanciato da discoverhongkong per introdurre punti di attrazione turistica unici da Central e Sheung Wan attraverso cinque percorsi a piedi a tema autoguidati. Queste passeggiate mettono in risalto diverse architetture e monumenti storici, arte e cultura, punti ristoro e boutique.Per avere maggiori dettagli sui percorsi a piedi, si può ritirare una copia cartacea dell'opuscolo “Old Town Central” presso i Visitor Centers o scaricarlo online sul sito di discoverhongkong.

Another popular landmark in Hong Kong and it's free.
A great walk from point A to point B with many cool & interesting arts along the streets.

Walking on Hollywood Road, you must visit the recently rehabilitated Tai Kun (the old No. 1 Police Station which was built in 1841). It was operational until 2006 and completely rehabilitated by 2018. The complex has a total of 16 heritage buildings consisting of the old barrack block, old prison, restaurants and bar. There are a few sculptures creating from rocks removed from the stone walls during the rehabilitation with one looking like a person lying down and another looking like a snake located before exiting from the Bauhinia Gate !

Would definitely recommend visiting PMQ on weekends, cool independent shops, restaurants and sometimes a market inside. Nice place to just grab a picnic table and hang out as well.

I enjoyed walking along Hollywood Road. Lots of arty trendy shops, Chinese antique shops plus an ethnic selection of different restaurants.

8/6～9までの期間、家族三人で
香港マカオツアーに参加しました
セントラル地区はデモ活動が頻繁に行われてたので、状況によっては観光を諦めるつもりでした
今回のツアー前は台風が香港に来てたり
後続に二個新台風が発生するし、デモが頻繁に行われてたり、前日はゼネストが
あるわで出発直前まで、香港に行けるかどうかわからない状況でした
出国を決意したのは、直近の情報で日程中のデモ活動予定がなかったのと、台風がそれたのが決定的になったので強行しました
まさかハリウッド坂を登り、壁絵アート
おしゃれな坂の両サイドあるお店散策
有名なエスカレーター、大館を拝観できるとは夢にも思いませんでした
この日はマカオ日帰りツアー後のフリータイムで翌日出国というタイミングでした。無理してでも香港を楽しみたかったので夜遅くまで散策しました
夜の香港もとても平和でした
場所によっては注意が必要ですが
問題なくホテルに帰着し、大いに楽しみました。
今回の香港旅行はとても平和で楽しいひとときを過ごせたラッキーなタイミングでした
いつ行っても楽しく平和な香港に戻れるよう
心より日本からお祈り申し上げます
