It is located near Pak Ngau Shek, encompassing Kwun Yam Shan in the central New Territories; The Farm was built in a valley with streams, woodlands and terraces in 1956 by the Kadoorie Agricultural Aid Association.
It’s pretty good outing to go with families and friends..different animals to see , the garden is huge to explore and pretty good to have photos.., check the Reptile Lookout, the Pigsties,Sun Garden Animal Exhibit, Native Mammal Display, Amphibian and Reptile House, Wildlife Walkthrough and Monkey Haven, Insects house ..so many things to explore..great for all ages ..nice place to go..Highly recommended 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

今年的一月底的嘉道理農場的鐘花櫻桃盛放，身在其中，彷如在花海中，不用飛去日本🇯🇵、南韓，也可以盡情賞花及不停拍照！
而且吸引了不少鳥兒做model ,令構圖更靚😄

秋高氣爽，相約好友暢遊大自然大埔嘉道理農埸，行程由乘坐園內觀光巴士上山開始，到達1,800多英尺高觀音山才起步。觀音山顶峯分别可遠望大埔區地貌，背向面向錦田元朗方向，長長小型機埸可見，山景近望大霧山背及天文台觀測站等，當日天朗氣清，遠近山脊稜線清晰可見。慢步車路及小徑往山下進發，路邊小花也美，埸內蘭花谷，各蘭花展出不同美態，途經過流水瀑布，水量涓涓流水不算足但美，蕨類植物分布在小徑兩側，非常茂盛。途經花棚有手繪蝴蝶風鈴實體展覧可看，60多個風鈴吊在一齊，每個玻璃風鈴上繪畫香港發現蝴蝶品種，畫工栩栩如生，佩服佩服！徒步暢遊也花了約3小時才返回山下入口處，離開前在園內享用一餐特色素食，欣賞大自然之餘又帶著口福滿足離開，待春天來臨定再次到訪！

The Kadoorie Farm and Botanical Garden is located in the valley along Lam Kam Road between Tai Po and Yuen Long and is most easily accessible by way of bus route 64K. Opening hours are 9.30am to 5pm daily and entry fees are HK$40 (adults) and HK$20 (children aged 5-11).
Note: The Kadoorie grounds are on the slope of a mountain. As such, you can purchase shuttle ticket (HK$10 per adult, HK$5 per child) and be driven to various drop off points from which you can walk back down to the entrance to the farm. Or take your time and walk upwards through the farm and garden grounds and take the shuttle back if you purchase ticket along with your entry fee.
This organisation is dedicated to nature conservation, rescue and rehabilitation of native animals, some of which are endangered or rarely seen and education about sustainable living. Particularly impressive are the efforts towards rescued animals. There are numerous facilities spread around the grounds, where you can view leopard cats, muntjac (barking) deer, bats, raptors, interesting reptiles and other animals in respectable enclosures. There is often information provided about the animals including names and ages if interested.
You will also find a lovely stream with surfaced walking paths and beautiful gardening and landscaping. This is a delightful area to walk and enjoy being in nature. Some benches and picnic spots can be found here and at other tranquil garden areas within Kadoorie as well.
There is an area dedicated to sustainable farming examples and education. You'll find a farm shop and cafe called the Sun Garden Cafe near the entrance. There are public toilets in various locations within the kadoorie grounds. Note, best to print or download the Kadoorie map and layout before setting off to explore as you will quickly learn how large of an area is included. It can be a bit tricky finding particular enclosures if you don't know your way around.
In the end, the location is a bit inconvenient of those in the city but the experience is rewarding for anyone who wants to spend 1/2 to 3/4 of a day in a valley countryside close to nature, especially a good option for those with children.

Interesting half-day trip. Got the 64K from Kam sheng bus station. Be careful not to get on the 64K going to yuen long west. It is a hilly walk with many steps and is definitely not suitable to bring a buggy/stroller. Difficult to see many animals when we were there, it was sunny and animals were hiding in the shade mostly. But it is set in a lovely location. Also, in the upper parts, there are some places in the upper part near raptor cages that are quite dangerous for younger children who could easily fall over low wall and injure themself badly. It is a worthwhile place to visit for sure, but take special care with small children.

A lot of things to see and learn from this garden. Plus they provide shuttle bus to different points which is a good choice for kids and senior. Highly recommended.

內地朋友們來香港參加其親友婚禮後，安排了次日在港停留逛逛。自己第一次去，也帶了他們從太和廣場的巴士站乘坐64K巴士去林錦公路的嘉道理農場。
雖然12月的氣溫不冷，但園區裏也無太多動物，少量鸚鵡、兩隻猴子等。見著的都是樹木為主，可觀性不足！
購票乘坐小巴上山，可以參觀很細小一座觀音像，更可以遠眺深圳的高樓林立。沿著山路走很遠才見到某某亭閣，因此建議還是乘車去下一景點，避免走路。
整個景點較適合家長帶著兒童遊覽，接觸大自然，惟成人可能感到娛樂性不足。

Kadoorie farm was established since 1956 and mainly helped the poor farmer to earn living through pig and chicken farming after world war second. Nowadays, the farm has changed its core business from advocating farming to botanic garden. There are butterfly and orchid gardens and provides home for some wild animals. The entrance fee is hk$30 plus bus fee hk$10. Ticket free for senior aged over 60. It’s good to see different kinds of plants and some wild animals.

Hi, please can you tell me if this is easy to visit with small kids, is there steep walks? And break areas to rest all the way

yes, it's a good place to visit with kids, there are steep walks at the uphill area, put you can buy a shuttle bus ticket when you arrive, it drives you to the uphill area and you can slowing walk back to downhill.
There are many areas for you to take a break, there are a few gazebos at the uphill area, and many air-conditioning indoor areas in the downhill, where animals are kept.
