There are enough quilts or matress to keep you warm, so sleeping bag is not that necessary, but if you want to keep it cleaner, you can take a sleeping bag. Tibet will be very good at night, but daytime is still strong sunlights, so please treat it like cold winter and take warm clothes with you, better to be wind proof, also take good hiking shoes, sunglasses, suncream. For getting the invitation letter for China visa application, you need to book a tour with travel company in Tibet, no matter private tour or group tour, after the payment, the travel company will send you an inviation letter to assist your China visa application. The invitation letter will use China itinerary to replace your Tibet itinerary, becuase mentioning Tibet in to the embassy you will not be able to get the China visa, the embassy will ask you to provide the Tibet permit for visa application, while the Tibet government will ask your China visa for Tibet permit application, which is contradictory policy. The group tour in Tibet is cheap price and chosen by 80% visitors, the private tour is same itinerary as group tour but can be tailor-made to meet your needs, but the cost is higher cost as private guide and vehicle will be arranged.

The medcine is called Diamox, can not buy this in China, but you can buy diamox from your country, the altitude medicine in China and Tibet is useless actually, the Diamox is good for altitude sickness. There are many places in Tibet for oxgent bottle, but better let your body to acclimatize gradully and do not use any oxygen if you can get by, having different level of headache is commom, will gone or get better soon after 2-4 days time
