I was so impressed with this national gallery of art. The historic dimension was well presented with photos and newspaper articles as well as very fine art.
Anyone with an interest in art or Indonesian history would love this place.
The two contemporary galleries featured fine art of the present, and both artists were great.
The extensive retrospective show of art by Kokoh Nugroho was mind-bogglingly great. Such an artist should be world renowned, and the curator of the exhibition applauded.
I liked the grounds, buildings and cafe too.
Anyone with an interest in art or Indonesian history would love this place.

Lingkungan di sekitar Galeri Nasional sangat bersih. Toilet nya juga bersih dan nyaman. Banyak karya-karya lukisan yang sangat bagus dan menarik. Banyak hal yang dapat di pelajari di Galeri Nasional. Kakak-kakak di Galeri Nasional juga sangat ramah.

Pernah mengungungi. Tidak begitu ingat isi dalamnya. Tetapi yang pasti diluar terdapat tempat untuj berfoto 3 dimensi. Rindu.

When we came there was an exhibition from local painter, and me personally loving all of their painting. It was about the beauty of many cities in Indonesia with a theme of Wonderful Indonesia.

Galerie sympa avec le mérite d'être gratuite et climatisée. Tout ne se vaut pas mais il y a quelques pièces sympas.

National Gallery of Indonesia is an art gallery and museum in Jakarta, Indonesia. The National Gallery of Indonesia has existed as a cultural institution in the field of visual arts since May 8, 1999. The institution plays an important role in expanding public's awareness of artworks through preservation, development and exploitation of the visual arts in Indonesia.
Happy to see lots of master piece art that showcased here with proper arrangement and also with air conditioning to preserve the quality of the art work as most of the Indonesian museum has no aircon installed at all! Not sure why as such humid weather will damage the art work for sure..entry is free and 2 halls closed.

Such a large complex but sadly only two galleries open. It was the same the last time I visited albeit one of the galleries had a different exhibition.
The permanent collection shows the evolution of art in Indonesia and has some nice examples of colonial to contemporary. I found it inspirational and it served as a good tribute to the nations arts.
The special exhibition was Paris Jakarta: 1959-1995. We worth a visit. Some pieces very ordinary but also very thought provoking - Faucheur - House of Bricks simple subject well portrayed. Kandinsky is well represented. A tapestry is on display by a Filipino artist Pacita Abad - which commands attention.
Well worth a visit.
Allow a couple of hours to amble around. Maybe they are preparing a new exhibition in the central hall. Cafe facilities were closed.

Menurut saya tempat ini sangat bagus dari segi fasilitas,lokasi,dan kebersihanya hanya kurang promosi agar banyak yang mengetahui tempat ini dan harga tiketnha yang relatif terjangkau sebanding dengan apa yang ditawarkan karya karya yang ditawarkan pun menarik,cocok untuk segala kalangan terutama anak muda karena bagus dan instagramable

It depends. You can use bus or busway to Gambir train station. The location is just at the opposite of Gambir station. The easiest way is using Grab Car/Go Car/Uber or regular taxi . pls compare the price first. thank you
