‪هذا المكان هو مكان القتل لذا فإن موقفه المخيف عادة في مكان يذبح فيه 100 جندي أمريكي. هل يجب أن أوصي به؟ حسنًا ، إذا كنت باحثًا عن الإثارة ، فانتقل إلى المكان المناسب لك. إنها مكان تاريخ الحرب العالمية 2 بعد كل شيء.‬

‪Visiting this place was heart wrenching. So many lives vanished here as the Japanese murdered them on site. This is not a huge memorial ground but worth a visit. Beautiful surroundings. People are friendly and greeted us as we walked up from the cruise port. A must see place when in Puerto Princesa.‬

‪Small place, but rich in history ‬

‪Located just across the Immaculate Conception Church or Cathedral of Puerto Princesa, this small park built by the Spaniards as a bastion, is very rich in history. During the WWII, it was used by the Japanese as a prison for the American soldiers they captured and held as POWs. When they felt that they were losing the battle and that the allies were already coming, they committed the horrendous crime of burning their prisoners to death! Today, nothing of such bleak past remains. Only two monuments record it.‬

‪Historic spot in Puerto Princesa‬

‪This is a very historic spot in the city of Puerto Princesa. Originally it was built as a garrison by the Spanish. The Japanese imprisoned American soldiers here during WWII. When the Japanese realised they would lose the war, they murdered many American soldiers. Only a handful escaped. The area is now a park. The cathedral is across the road. ‬

‪This place was sad and interesting once I found out that over 100 soldiers were burned here by Japanese soldiers in world war 2. Who would have thought?‬

‪A Peaceful yet shrine with a dark past‬

‪Plaza Cuartel sits just near the Immaculate Concepcion Cathedral. This historical landmark pays tribute to American and Filipino soldiers who were victims of the second world war at the hands of Japanese soldiers. During the war, there were over a hundred American soldiers who were imprisoned in the tunnels of this landmark and were burned alive! However, 11 soldiers escaped the massacre and swim their way out to the sea. Some people say that they encountered paranormal experiences in this landmark due to its dark past. In the present, it’s a simple shrine with tall trees, educational boards, and ruins of old garrisons and historical tunnels.‬

‪This place is a place of murder so its normally creepy standing on a place where a 100 plus American soldiers were being slaughtered. Should I recommend it? well if you're a thrill seeker then go, the place is perfect for you. It's a place of world war 2 history after all.‬

‪Interesting WWII History‬

‪We went to visit the Cathedral and found this hidden gem across the street. It had a not too well maintained historical display outlining the murder of US service men in WWII who were prisoners of war. A tragic, but fascinating bit of history I didn't know about. I'm glad we found it and visited.‬

‪WW2 Historical Site‬

‪To learn about the history of this site was a great experience for this US military veteran. There is even a book written by one of the soldiers who escaped, but to visit the place itself was truly an honored experience.‬

‪Lo mejor es su fachada‬

‪Es un pequeño parque dedicado a los militares estadounidenses asesinados durante la Segunda Guerra Mundial.
Originalmente fue un presidio, pero lo único que queda del lugar es su fachada.
El interior es pequeño y bastante descuidado, así que realmente decepciona al visitante.
La entrada es gratuita.‬

‪I was not aware of the details of the americans held captive here during the war. But it is an interesting place to see. They tell the story you should be aware of. We were surprised to learn of the atrocities during the war.‬
