I would recommend to drop them an email to check availabilities. They definitely have good instructors for a first time experience. When I was there there was also a family which was just walking in and then arranged the dive course for the following day. But I am a person who prefers to plan things a bit ahead, hence the initial recommendation to establish contact beforehand. New Wave Divers is a small shop from the outside, but they have a lot to offer from the inside. I hope you enjoy your dives.

Hi Philip you don't need a buddy any one of the instructor from New wave will be with you. I did my dive alone along with dive instructor Jeremy

Sayma Thank you for contacting us What do you wish to do? 1. PADI Discover scuba diving 3 hours no certification 3000 php per person  2. Scuba Diver 2 days traditional 15000 php per person or 1 day with online classroom completed before you arrive certification with PADI 12,000 php per person plus 169 usd to PADI  3. Open Water 3-4 days 22000 php per person total or 2 days with online classroom completed prior to arrival 19500 php per person and 169 usd to PADI  You do not need to know how to swim to scuba dive  #1 question we get is "We are not the best swimmers or no swimming at all, can we still do the discover scuba diving experience and/or the Open water course?" Yes of course, we have certified non -swimmers many times. The BCD you will be wearing is similar to a floatation device and your instructor will always be with you to teach you how to use this. Bear in mind that swimming underwater is very different to staying afloat. 

You can do the Discover scuba diving adventure For this PADI non-certification program you will learn key safety information without spending hours in the classroom. During the 2-4 hour programme, which will be guided by your instructor, you will have a SCUBA briefing and become acquainted with the wonderful underwater world at a maximum depth of 12 meters.   Although the PADI Discover Scuba Diving does not result in a certification, if you let us know that you may be interested in continuing your PADI education, we can arrange to conduct your DSD in a way which will allow you to credit your time and money towards either the PADI Scuba Diver Course or the PADI Open Water Diver Course.
