‪A busy area with a huge market of just about everything. We were warned to watch for pickpockets.
Across the street is the memorial to heroes which is worth seeing. A guide to explain it is a must.‬

‪Typical square with historical sites‬

‪It’s typical style square with buildings of the previously state government , the first fire station and the 1879 memorial.

The square had a antiques market when we were there. It’s a short walk from the Justice building and the ascensor El Peral.

Couple of marking of the expansion of the land fill from the initial sea front.‬

‪Hard to get to, probably worth it‬

‪Although next to the dock, it was two buses and a mile walk to get here! Once we had arrived the navigation around the square and views of the naval building were hampered by scaffolding that had been erected, I presume, for New Year celebrations. That said it is a good square, naval HQ staues and other interesting buildings to look at. The market didn't really help much in either stuff yo buy or enhancing looks‬

‪The plaza is more like a flea market and a parking lot, after some of the Plaza de Armas I have seen here in Chile, this one is kind of a disappointment.‬

‪I went to Chile a few months ago and I would come back. I really have a good time. There are many places to visit, is secure and the people there is very kind. There are a lot a shoppings and restaurants to visit. This park in particularly is beautiful and near are differents activities to do alone or with company. I recomend to visit, you won't regret it.‬

‪The only prominent place in Valparaiso‬

‪Valparaiso is just a sad town, all in the past, with shabby remnants of one beautiful buildings. Here at least there is a beautiful monument and a lot of small shops round the corner‬

‪Cuidado em Valparaiso‬

‪Fui assaltado e levaram o meu cordão de ouro, em plena luz do dia na Plaza Sotomayor em Valparaiso. Eu estava com guia local e excursão com mias de 25 pessoas e o meliante se infiltrou no meio e me assaltou. Todos ficaram olhando e não fizeram nada, até o Guia ficou só olhando. Não tinha policiamento no local, muitos camelôs, uma confusão generalizada. Não desejo voltar lá denovo.‬
