We met the owners of Kusa Treks at a travel expo right before COVID hit. We were immediately drawn to their trek packages and as a result, reached out to them 3 years later. We wanted to explore all of the ecosystems of Peru and Kusa Treks made that happen.
Daniel, one of the coordinators, was super responsive and organized in creating our ideal trip to Peru. He created a very thorough PDF highlighting everything that we had wanted. He was also very cooperative whenever we reached out to him with any changes and/or updates.
Upon arrival in Cusco, we were treated like family, from start to finish. Erik, the owner of Kusa Treks, picked us up himself from the airport, along with Carlos, our tour guide for our trip. Erik provided us his number and told us to call him whenever anything came up. Even during our trip, with our wild ideas, he was very helpful and responsive in modifying our itinerary. Erik even went out of his way to show us around the Sacred Valley, including a shamanic festival and the local cuisine, such as guinea pig. This made us feel even more welcome in his country.
For our actual Inca Trail trek, by coincidence, we ended up in a private tour, since no other couples were scheduled for that week. As a result, it turned into a more personalized experience in which our guide, Carlos, quickly became our best friend. We got to know him, his knowledge of Peru, his local humor and even his family. He got to know our interests, vacation style and background, giving us a truly personalized adventure into the culture of Peru beyond the traditional tours. Carlos truly gave us the Anthony Bourdain experience both of the Andes and his hometown of Cusco.
A big shout out to the porters. We have no idea how they carry all that stuff and cook so well. The meals they prepared for us on the trail were beyond amazing. This was an adventure to remember.
To continue the adventure, Kusa Treks assured that our time in the Amazon rainforest and Lima were just as amazing. They partnered with Reserva Amazonica Inkaterra in the rainforest, to provide a once in lifetime experience with tours of exotic wildlife and fruit farms. In Lima, they partnered with Lima Gourmet, to provide us an outstanding food tour, with Patricia as our guide. They also partnered with a local tour guide, Yoselin, who showed us the best cultural sites of the city, including the Museo Larco, an amazing museum of ancient Peruvian culture.
We highly recommend Kusa Treks not only for your trekking desires, but as an overall tour operator. Their guides are extremely knowledgeable in Peruvian culture and will leave you feeling like you just found your new home.

This was a trip of a lifetime. My wife and I went for our honeymoon and felt so well taken care of by Erik and his crew. Erik was so helpful setting everything up from dinners to car pickups/dropoffs where ever. Aldo, our full time guide, was so informative and a world wind of knowledge. we learned so much from everywhere we visited. The hike was outstanding as well. We did the 4 day Inka trail. We are avid hikers and trekked along and Aldo kept us very safe but allowed us to go at our faster than usual pace to push ourselves and really feel the burn lol. Every camp site we were catered to by the Kusa Trek team with outstanding food prepared for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
I highly recommend Kusa Treks for your peru travels. They are an outstanding team and created such a memorable honeymoon for my wife and I.

I loved my experience using Kusa Treks for our recent trip to Peru. Daniel was extremely helpful in both recommendations and planning the trip. Our guide, Aldo was just amazing. He was incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, patient and overall just a wonderful individual. We learned so much from him! We hiked the 4 day, 3 night Inca Trail, Rainbow Mountain, and Humantay Lake in addition to touring the sights of the Sacred Valley and the terraces of Moray. Other activities included a cooking class in Cusco and a super fun river rafting trip. Everyone from Eric (owner), Aldo (our guide), Fernando (Chef), and all of the drivers and porters were so friendly and made our trip fabulous. We were truly spoiled! I will definitely use Kusa Treks again when traveling in South America.

My sister and I did 2 weeks with Kusa Trek. We did the 4 day 3 night camping trek on the Inca Trail. We were spoiled from day 1. The chef, Fernando, fed us so well. The food was delicious. Our guide Aldo was very knowledgeable in everything; he’s also an amazing picture taker!!! Thank you Kusa. We can’t wait to book with you again!!!!!

We did the 2 day Inca trail to Machu Picchu eith Carlos. Carlos was great teloing us all about the unique orchids we foind along the way. He also explained us all about the quechuas and Inca culture- and gave us some tips on peruvian cumbia as well :). Everything worked well from the start, including the communication with Daniel by email, and on the day before the trip with Erik: he qent to our hostel the day before to explain everything about the hike, very helpfull. The only critic I have is that the bus to go down from Machu Picchu on the second day could have been included as well.

I can’t say enough good things about the whole Kusa Trek crew. From the preparation to the final flight home we were well taken care of. How they coordinate such a seamless trip is nothing short of magic. We had an amazing tour of The Galapagos which was well coordinated with a trip to Machu Picchu. Our guides at every step were exceptional and very knowledgeable! We returned home feeling like we have a new group of friends, and their collective name is Kusa Treks!

Kusa Treks organized an eight day trip to Cusco, Machu Picchu, Rainbow Mountain, and the Mountain Lodges. They created a pdf detailing my trip, booked all the details such as hotels, guides, and transportation, and they have representatives in Cusco that can help with any issues. I strongly recommend them.

We had such an amazing experience! Kusa Treks provided us with a great chef, awesome porters, and the best guide ever. Because of their help, we were able to see the Inca sites that we have wanted to for years.

We did the Inka trail with Aldo our tour guide and it was an incredible experience. Everyone on the Kusa Trek team was very friendly and felt like family by the end of the trip. My wife and I couldn’t have asked for
