‪Excellent hidden gem!‬

‪We went to Abel’s today and had a great experience. Staff were very knowledgable about the wines, particularly local wine. There is a good selection of Romanian wines available which are high quality. We also had a mixed platter of meats and cheese which was delicious.
Total for 2 glasses of wine, mixed platter, one lemonade and sparkling water was 139lei (£24), which we felt was excellent value. The mixed platter was really large and filling.
Highly recommended we will be returning! ‬

‪Great Wine Bar in Old Town‬

‪Visited twice in 2 days and had a great experience both times. Knowledgeable and friendly staff that really cares about wine and service. We travel the world and visit wine bars wherever we go and we love Abel’s! Coming back tomorrow for a formal tasting.‬

‪Great staff, great wines, great afternoon.‬

‪Absolutely fantastic wine bar!
We went on a Monday afternoon as a two and were the only people there at the start of our time at Abels. We chose to do the longer wine tasting which came with bread and olives as well as a charcuterie platter, and we tasted 8 Romanian wines (1 sparkling, 2 whites, a rose, 3 reds and a dessert wine) all of which were beautiful.
The staff took time to explain the characteristics of each one and did not hurry us to drink the wines, they also brought us the food latter at our request which was great as we weren't hungry when we sat down.
I think this would be the same as if you booked the tasting tour through tripadvisor but was cheaper turning up and doing it, albeit this might not work on a weekend if they are busy!
Great atmosphere, we stayed for an extra drink after finishing the tasting and would definitely go back. ‬

‪Great wine, excellent service‬

‪We did the wine tasting with Dario at 3.30pm, after a morning of sightseeing tours. It was a really great activity to do, to recharge and get ready for evening plans as a tourist. The wines Dario picked were all local and delicious. It was a relaxed tasting, and we were able to enjoy the wines on our own between the tasting information that Dario provided. Would definitely recommend as a couple activity.‬
