We had a fantastic time in Belize and Guatemala!! Martsam Travel took care of everything for us. We had professional, friendly and fun guides, and the hotels they chose for us were wonderful. We gave them a complicated list of priorities, yet they really delivered! I would highly recommend this company. Our guides were Edioney, Coco, and Keldon. Raul and Karen did the planning and were our points of contact. They were responsive and helpful. Jason was our expert bird watching guide, and George took us to see the iguana rescue. Patrick was our boat captain. Each of these guides was superb!! Please do consider using Martsam Tour and Travel...you won't regret it. We were very happy with our whole experience.

We've traveled with Martsam, in the past, to Belize and Guatemala, and yes it was amazing! So good that we reached back out to them for another adventure!
Most recently, in March 2023, Martsam put together a custom trip, for my family, to go to Panama, and we absolutely loved it. Roberto, our private guide, was incredible!!! From the moment we landed, he took amazing care of us, and he made us feel like family. A very knowledgeable, passionate, and kind person, Roberto took us to several venues, restaurants, and historical locations. Bypassing traffic and lines - Roberto knew exactly where and when to go. It was a pleasure spending time with Roberto and leaning about Panama's history, flora, fauna, food, music, and the indigenous peoples. That is what makes a trip like this so special. The trip could not have been smoother and well thought out. Thank you Martsam, Lily, and Roberto for a beautiful trip!

We have just returned home from our third wonderful trip to Guatemala with Martsam Travel.
Each tour was planned and executed with meticulous detail and designed to suit our particular needs so as to maximise our bird sightings and archaeological interests.
Nothing was too much trouble for our driver and guide who from collecting and welcoming us from the airport, the duration of the trip and returning us to the airport for our flight home made our holiday extremely happy, interesting and memorable.
We saw several hundred species of birds and learnt a lot about the Mayan culture.
All our accommodation was comfortable, clean and ideally located for our birding activities.
Our guide ensured the restaurants would cater for our dietary needs even in the most remote of locations. We were impressed with the standard of hygiene in the restaurants and either eating our meals overlooking amazing views or in quaint surroundings made meal times something to look forward to.
We felt extremely safe and secure throughout our trips and we would recommend without a moment's hesitation anyone thinking of travelling to Guatemala to do so with Martsam Travel.

I highly recommend Martsam. Fernando created the perfect itinerary, communicated often, took care of all the details. The guides were interesting people with expertise in different areas—Maya ruins, birdwatching, contemporary Maya culture. It was truly an incredible trip. I can’t wait to go back!

We had an amazing birding tour, including surrounding Antigua, up to Tecpan to see Pink-headed Warblers and finally 2 nights at Los Tarrales Natural Reserve. Our guide, German Cholotio was fantastic, knew his birds, and their calls and where they were likely to be, but he was also a great companion, and had excellent photography suggestions. Los Tarrales is a funky but delightful finca, great, not pretentious food, has a nice swimming pool btw. birding on the grounds was varied and plentiful, and roads into the surrounding hills were a pleasant adventure. do use copius bug repellent. The logistics were very smooth, transporting was comfortable.
Our trip was delayed 2 years due to COVID but in the end our experience was delightful. I would give the highest recommendation this group!

We booked online with Martsam, for a Guatemala and Belize tours, and everything went really well. They responded fast and on site they helped us in everything we needed. We lost one of our bags at the airport and they were extremely thoughtful and were constantly checking with the airport for the bag, that arrived safely.

My husband and I did a week trip with Martsam and 100% would travel with them again. All the logistics went smoothly. One day, one of the volcanoes was releasing ash and Martsam was in contact with the airline to get updates if our flight would be impacted. Luckily, we were able to leave on our scheduled flight - but it was reassuring that Martsam was being proactive about addressing any issues.
The drivers and guides were excellent at their job. You can tell by the way they talk they like what they do and are excited to share their country with you. They are wonderful people (Eli, Marco, Darwin, David) and would gladly book them for another tour.
We were able to create a trip that was customized for us and Fernando in the office was able to provide feedback on what was feasible and what logistics might need some tweaking due to traffic or weather. Fernando was very responsive to my questions and able to provide a itinerary/quote quickly once all the key stops were identified.
Travel with Martsam and you will be well taken care of.

WOW... I cannot say enough wonderful things about Martsam. Thanks to Lily and Fernandez we had the most amazing experience in Guatemala. Volcano hike. Mayan ruins and history. A home stay. Markets. Churches. And so much more. Half way through out trip we needed to change the itinerary; and they made it possible. Local guides and drivers are the best. Knowledgeable. Educational. And went at our pace. Loved everything about this trip. But especially how much time they took to understand our needs, diversity of places we stayed, the pace of travel - and the constant check in along the way. Martsam also give back to the local community; supporting a local turtle program and road maintenance to one of the ruins. I'd say the greatest benefit was a huge saving in time which gave us the opportunity to do and see so much more. No stress. Thank you to everyone on the team.
