A beautiful exhibition with excellent works by famous Serbian painters!

This was a pleasant surprise. The museum is well organized and we enjoyed the Serbian art a great deal. English signage was available for most of the items which was very helpful. The woman selling tickets was extremely helpful. Lastly, we got in for free because it was Friday!
Highly recommended.

What a pleasant surprise! I did not know what to expect but the gallery was great! So many really famous paintings and icons! The rooms were really nice, with different color walls. Even there was a small room to relax while Arabic music was playing to the exhibited painting of oriental motive!
The entrance is not even ONE euro! Only 100 dinars (last day of January 2021)! Just unbelievable!
The shop has a good choice of books and postcards!
I highly recommend!

The ticket costs less then a cup of espresso and it offers relaxing atmosphere with some of the most famous pieces of Serbian art. There is a corner for reading where visitor can flick through some art books, "room for the indulgence in art" (or something like that) where one painting is in the spotlight with the addition of music and some really cute souvenirs for a reasonable price. Very pleasant place for having a break.

It is free of charge on Fridays. There is a modern art section that included some of the most innovative and original works I've ever seen. The portrait galleries show great works. The architecture of the building suits the purpose perfectly and the staff at the desk are kind. My favorite painting wsa, of course, Uros Predic's "Pouting Girl"

高大上的展馆，不输国家博物馆的规模和硬件，100d的门票价格，千值万值了。工作人员的态度也很好，热情的告诉我临时展区和固定展区，以及参观路线。

Gallery of Matica Srpska is not only worthy for the cultural history of Serbs from Vojvodina and central Europe in general but as well for the whole world with some remarkable paintings significant for periods from the 15th to the 21st century. Impressive baroque images will leave your breathless! They left me with impression that I walked in the room of living people from that time who are still there alive in front of me. Portraits of famous painters are done with so much details and attention while story of families from the portraits are also an extraordinary gem. A lot of attention has been paid to the Serbian Orthodox art and how it evolve over the time. This museum is one of the best things you can see in Novi Sad!

Une réelle suprise que ce musée qui offre un superbe panorama de l'art serbe allant du XVIIe/XVIIIe à nos jours . . . Les oeuvres sont bien présentées, les expositions temporaires de qualité (une sur les femmes dans l'art durant mon séjour) et l'accueil vraiment charmant ! A faire sans hésition . . . Attention le musée n'est pas aussi bien indiqué que celui de Voïvodine.

Az első emeleten van egy gazdag ortodox (mi más) ikongyűjtemény, leírásokkal. Ez egy nagyon igényes és nagy szelet ebből a kategóriából, Belgrádban is megállná a helyet. A maradék rész annyira nem kötött le, nagyrészt portrékat lehet látni a második emeleten, de szerintem azok nem adnak annyit. Számomra legalábbis nem azok maradnak emlékezetesek. Az ikonokról angol nyelvű könyv is van, amelyet szabadon lehet olvasgatni, le is ülhetünk egy kialakított részen.

If you are easily tired out by museums, this is the one for you. The collection can be seen without experiencing museum over-load. The collection is of first-rate artists and iconographers of the 1600s,1700s,1800s and 1900s. The explanations provided on the walls (in English and in Serbian) put the collection into a world context and make it enjoyable for everyone.
