The tomb of Jahangir dating back to 1637 is part of an ensemble located in a huge Persian-like garden. It is richly decirated with inlaid carved marble. Clearly influenced by the Safavid-style architecture from Persia. The burial chamber is outstandingly beautiful.

The main area of the tomb was inlaid with semi-precious stones and reminded me of the Taj Mahal. The tall trees with kites perching on them at sunset were beautiful. The remains of frescoes hinted at the beauties they once were.

The tomb of Jahangir is a away from the hustle and bustle of Lahore. Well worth the drive. Built for Mughal Emperor Jahangir, the site is decorated in frescoes, marble and other decorative art. If you’re into architecture, this is definitely one of best places to visit in Lahore!
You enter the site via a massive gate called Akbari Sarai. The tomb is surrounded by sprawling, Persian-inspired gardens. The structure has four large minarets. Мавзолей Джахангира — мавзолей, построенный для могольского императора Джахангира (1569-1627). Строительство датируется 1637г.
Мавзолей славится своими интерьерами, богато украшенными фресками и мрамором, а его экстерьер отделан флорентийской мозаикой.
Гробница подвергалась множественным разрушениям во время правления сикхов и при британском правлении. Но наибольший ущерб был нанесён множественными наводнениями.
Сейчас гробница, вместе с прилегающими Акбари-Сараем и гробницей Асаф-хана, является частью ансамбля, который в настоящее время находится в предварительном списке всемирного наследия ЮНЕСКО.

Il mausoleo di Jahangir è un unicum perché non ci sono altre tombe di imperatori mughal nell’area. Come altre tombe imperiali del periodo, anche questa è inserita in un giardino nello stile del Chahar Bagh (giardino del paradiso) e decorata in pietra rossa e marmi con una camera mortuaria in marmo e intarsi di pietre dure. Quello che più colpisce chi ha già visto monumenti simili è la mancanza di elevazione tipo un secondo piano o una cupola ma pare che questa fosse una espressa volontà dell’imperatore.

Lovely visit to the tomb of Jahangir and his consort Our Jahan at Dilkusha. So many wonderful architectural details and so much history. Highly recommend a knowledgable guide.

Mausoleum built for the Mughal Emperor Jahangir. The mausoleum dates from 1637, and is located in Shahdara Bagh in Lahore, Punjab. This is a nice place to spend sometime and learn history of Mughal architecture. Park is neat and clean and this is one of UNISCO heritage site. Staff is nice and cooperative. I wasn't aware that Tomb of Asif Khan is also across the mosque and a staff member told me about that.
Ticket for foreigners is expensive and it ships be regular price since we are promoting tourism in Pakistan.

Aucun touriste sur place sur ce lieu proche du centre de Lahore mais moins accessible. La visite peut être faite assez rapidement.

Garnished with immense spreads of landscapes around the great Mughal period masterpiece, Jehangir's tomb is again yet another perfection of the fine artisans of the period! Notice the intricacies in the interiors and exteriors and feel the industriousness of the great masters of the field! I went as a child and as an adult.

Walaikmussalam the best time to visit the tomb of Jahangir & Noor Jahan is morning or second time after 5:15 pm in summer season. The day is up to you but rather than Sunday is good sometimes some lazy bluffers play cricket there .
