The PAF Museum in Karachi offers a comprehensive look into the history and achievements of the Pakistan Air Force. The museum’s exhibits include a range of aircraft, from vintage models to modern jets, as well as informative displays on military aviation and significant historical events. The well-maintained aircraft and detailed plaques provide an engaging experience for aviation enthusiasts and history lovers. The museum's layout is easy to navigate, and the staff is knowledgeable and helpful. Overall, it's a fascinating and educational visit, though it may not have as many interactive features as some larger museums.

It's an amazing place to visit if you are interested in aviation and Pakistan Air Force history. One thing to keep in mind is that you can not enter this place without family. You also have to pay Rs 100 for the entry ticket for 1 adult .

Not allowed in because I am wearing shorts. Unbelievable stupidity. Doesn't say anything on their website about shorts. Typical of the state institutions here. They seem determined to make the world hate them

I have visited the PAF museum at least 3 times in the past 5 years. Its always a treat to walk around the place and take in all the amazing aircraft. There are a number of aircraft - Mirages, F-6, A-6, Canberra Bomber just to name a few - on display in the open grounds of the museum in addition to radar & missile systems and helicopters as well. The indoor exhibit area is also very special with a number of aircraft on display including the aircraft that brought Quaid-e-Azam to Pakistan, the PAF F-104 Starfighter loaded with missiles and the Indian Airforce Gnat that landed in Pakistan out of fear of engaging with and F-104 in the air. In addition there are jet engine exhibits on display and a new area opened to commemorate operation swift retort including the flight suit of Wing Commander Abhinandan's who was shot down within Pakistan's border by a Pakistani F-16 using an AIM 120 Radar Guided Missile.
A must visit place for anyone interested in Military Aviation or the history of Pakistan Airforce.

I had a great visit. I consider myself an aviation fan and have been to some of the finest aviation museums through the course of my travels:
Here is a sampling: Dayton (US Air Force), Smithsonian, RAF Hendon, Paris Le Bourget, Brussels Aviation and a few others.
This one ranks in terms of quality, class, and content similar to those as you go to exhibits inside. Also, as an aviation buff, you will notice the diversity of aircraft that otherwise you would see in a single place. Much of it is because of the geo-political climate the country finds itself in that you see French, American, Russian, British, Chinese Aircraft, and even those used by defectors. Some highlights:
1. Aircraft from its own inventory and fleet dating back to the 40s. Some noteable types (none of which are in service): Harvard, B-57, F-86, F104, HH-43 Helicopter, Atlantic Maritime Patrol, Mirage 5, F-6, F-7, A-5. It even has Vickers Viking that belonged to its first leader/founder from the 40s. These aircraft made by US, Chinese, French etc
2. Aircraft captured or otherwise surrendered: one from the 1965 war. Many from Afghanistan (when the Soviets invaded) in the 80s when there was air to air combat taking place on the border, and many Afghan piloted aircraft chose to defect.
3. An exhibit on a more recent aerial engagement in Feb 2019 with its eastern neighbor.
Also, the museum shop is worth a visit that sells things at prices I can't imagine. Really accurate models (up to the F-16, JF-17) at equivalent of $5 but at 1-48 scale and reasonable accuracy. I bought as many as I thought would fit in my luggage.
There are also food outlets for snacks.
Just keep one thing in mind that because of the nice layout and open spaces outside, this is as much a park for families to visit for escaping the urban rush (they still pay the fee) as it is for visiting the aircraft. In fact many people are there just for the park and the planes just happen to be there for them.
Also, you will find this museum a bit commercialized because its got amusement rides/ small roller coasters/bumper cars. Thats because the museum fees are low ( to make it affordable) and do not cover the costs of what it takes to maintain and run the place. So they rent out more of their space to commercial vendors for raising additional revenue.
And lastly, the museum is right past the runway threshold of a joint Air Force/Naval base. It has C-130s (Air Force) and Navy P-3 Orions, F27, Seaking, Alouette and other assets. If you happen to get lucky you can see them on final right overhead or on departure as they are retracting their landing gear.

They just maintain the cleanance as it's hard find the clean places in Karachi. Hardly you see the the original planes as they mostly decorate toys everywhere

Can i celebrate my friend's birthday here?
If yes then from whom do i have to take permission?
Is it necessary to take permission?
I have seen many people celebrating birthdays there.

It depends what kind of birthday celebration are you planning to have. A small gathering in the park with friends over is not an issue. People hang out in groups all the time.

Is PAF museum will open on Saturday or not 15/August/2020
كُتب بتاريخ 15 أغسطس 2020
I would like to know what is the best time to visit PAF Museum Karachi with family/kids.
Can i go using a public transport ? Do i need a car inside or its okay if we walk and look at everything ? I plan to use Uber/Careem services.
Any precautions? Should we take something to eat or snacks and good quality drinks/water can be purchased there ?
Please do let me know. Thanks
