Travelled first time to Dubai,got taxi from airport.Even before we got in to the taxi she was yelling at two girls who did not get in to her taxi and calling them stupid.That was slightly off putting and a bit uncomfortable.
She asked for the address where we were going and we gave her that.She then asked us to put it in our GPS;we told her 5 times that we don’t have any Dubai SIM card ,so we can not use gps.She was not getting it and got very agitated,started yelling at us.We asked her to put it in her GPS system which she didn’t reply to.
We gave her the phone number of the hotel so that she can talk.She got angry when was not happy with hotels reply I guess and started mumbling.When I asked what happened-she yelled at me and told me that she does not want to talk to me!
When eventually after so much struggle she was able to find the hotel.She kept on mumbling even after arriving to the hotel.I politely asked her why is she treating us poorly ? She got so angry and said-Shut up **tch,that’s enough! And she continue to call me names until I got out.
I honestly can not believe her behaviour.
Not sure if she is just rude or something tremendously wrong with her.
I’m so shaken up with this incident and now terrified to book another taxi.
Not sure where to complaint and what can I do about it.
Please be careful of her.

Generaly speaking the Taxi Service works.
However there are many occasions where its just poor servive.
The taxi drivers at the best of times will say NO to you if the journey doesnt suit them. One Taxi Driver had us in tue Cab and when he realised the job was too small he asked us to to catch the cab behind his. We had to move all our suitcases and the Hotel staff had a real argument with the Taxi Driver.
On another occasion we had to get to a evening cruise and we ended up missing it , as a result of 15 taxis not accepting us. JUST POOR.
Common excuses you hear is what the Drivers use is ' I have a booking ' or ' my shift is coming to an end '.
The poor Habit of the taxi Driver can a be real spoil your trip .
Taxi rate is reasomable and alot cheaper tham uber in Dubai

I am living here for 7 years and for last two years ( during the expo and high season) I faced the issue with taxi. Normally lately you can call Careem but in Jbr area was easy to take taxi and you can just enter inside the taxi and say your destination, and they drive you. it’s could be time of exchanging shift but taxi drivers can politely explain for you that my shift is finished and I can’t take a costumer. But what’s happening now, they stop for each customer around and ask where do you go and they take you just it’s suit them and they don’t want to drive you if it’s doesn’t fit them schedule ( to close )or expectation of destination many wise or I e.etc. And more , a lot of taxi drivers don’t speak in English and everything what they could tell me “ get out of here I don’t drive you”. Is it nice that the taxi driver chooses them costumer and not the other way around? And I always thinking and trust that in this country everything well manage and under control but suffering this issue with taxi and when you see over the years how bad is turning

These cars line up in the taxi line at DXB and they are a total rip off. They should not be allowed to queue in the taxi lines. Beware. Double to triple taxi prices.

Mostly foreign Pakistani Indian taxi drivers who have no incentive to pick you up hence if you ask them you want to go somewhere they will say no they can’t as they are going elsewhere. I was told later that you don’t ask just sit inside as they HAVE to take you where you say.
To summarise the government is being ripped off by foreign labor workers which is wrong government should wake up!

I have been attacked by dubai taxi drivers specifically late at night. The moment they see a girl taking a taxi late at night they think they can be rude. One a taxi driver walked out of the taxi and threatened me to call the police because he didn't like the way I close the door. Then after I told him go ahead call the police, he started watching me parked next to my building, when I started making a video of his car he drove off... please be careful while taking a taxi at night specially girls.

If you're going to take a taxi in Dubai, make sure you take a metered taxi which is run by the government. We learned this lesson a hard way when we got into a Lexus which didn't have a meter. We were going from Deira to the Souks which in a metered cab was only 30-40 dirhams, this chap charged us 80 dirhams. When he saw that there was traffic he said "Okay you give me 100 dirhams!" We argued with him and said we would only give him 80 AED. Then we got there and we handed him a 100, he refused to give us change - we forced him to give us change and he started to count coins and was trying to give us 50 cents in place of 1 dirham coins. A total rip-off artist!
He was also very rude and talked on his phone with his friend on speaker phone the whole ride!
We felt so cheated!

I forgot my phone on the taxi Dx005. My taxi driver Sabirchan from Pakistan have seen the customer after me was trying to take and keep it.
Once I was in touch with him, he brought my phone all the way back for no extra charge .
I booked him for my airport trip few days later and can confirm his professionalism. On time, polite, good hearted, superclean taxi and a safe driver.

Total rip off. They hide the fare even though it’s “metered” and won’t give a receipt. Instead of taking a qer route they take the longest to make more money.

I live in Al nahda area in Dubai , which is a fast growing residential area . Mostly impossible to get a Taxi here . Many of them just pass by empty and if at all they stop then they ask where you want to go and if the ride is short then they just refuse and drive away . I am told most of the empty cabs are booked but the lights on their roof are lit full which mostly means empty.
If drivers decided whom to pick m drop where and when , then it’s not called a service .

I’m not sure where you want to get picked up from or where you want to go but taxis in Dubai are very reasonable and a good way to get around.If you want to be picked up from DBX you could always get the metro

We simply got a taxi from the taxi stand at the airport to our hotel but we did enquire about going to Abu Dhabi. The driver, whose English wasn't the best, said he could take us but we would have to get a taxi in Abu Dhabi to bring us back. While in Dubai, we just flagged a taxi on the street to take us locally. No problem there. Where you could book, I don't have that answer but perhaps an Internet search would be worthwhile.

Is it advised to reserve taxi from airport to Hotel?
Not required to reserve. Just come out of the airport and plenty of them are waiting. Just tell them the hotel name and address and you will be on your way. They run on meter without fail adding up a airport surcharge of about 25 AED I think.
