Driving from Sucre to Potosi, we stopped here to stretch and for a photo op of the suspension bridge. That in itself is a regular suspension type bridge. What was unexpected and unique were the other structures close by it. Yes, definitely medieval looking and different for the landscape surrounding the area. It's a pretty area with the mountains and river.
There were a few locals by the side of the road selling oranges and other fruit which was nice to buy for our journey.

if you are on your way to potosi and are not in a rush. it might be worth visiting this bridge. it was the main connection from sucre to potosi and is a real piece of history.

A cincuenta kilómetros de Sucre, desde la carretera en dirección a Potosí se divisa este bello y restaurado puente colgante sobre el río Pilcomayo, construido a finales del siglo XIX y que en ese punto es el límite departamental entre Chuquisaca y Potosí.
Tiene 200m de largo y dos imponentes torres a cada lado.

Entre los departamentos de Potosi y Chuquisaca se encuentra un hermoso puente que parece sacado de una película medieval es un atractivo que se contrata con las Jacarandas que hacen de este un paisaje de ensueño.
No se pierdan de hacer un stop en este lugar.

We stopped along road from Sucre to Potosi and encountered what appeared to be a bridge straight from medieval days. It is very difficult to find information on it, but it appears to be a suspension bridge built for walkers, not conveyances. Seems to have been built in late 1800s or early 1900s. It is mostly a photo op that also gives you a view of the Pilcomayo River which can be impressive with the sun low in the sky.
It is somewhat jarring to see this structure in the middle of Bolivia, but there it is.
Do not go miles out of your way to see this, but if you are traveling from Sucre to Potosi or vice versa, find a pull over spot and spend a little time here.
