Having driven up the Wolfeboro Highway dozens of times and passed this church high on the hill above, I finally had time to drive up there and get a closer look at it.
For a relatively small town, St. Katharine Drexel Parish Church was a much bigger church than expected. So was the parking lot.
I thought it had a modern cathedral-like appearance with classic features, such as stained glass windows and a simplified rose window.
The belfry is smaller than usual. To me, it appears to be an electronic system.
While I was photographing the front of the church, three crosses in a wooded area off to my left caught my eye. I went over to check that out. There was a little grotto with a sculpture of Mary holding the crucified Jesus. There were benches nearby.
I also found a path that went by the Catholic Stations of the Cross. That was the first time I’d seen something like that outdoors on church grounds. I found it interesting.
There was also a small place to sit in a little garden setting in the parking lot.
I rate St. Katharine Drexel Parish Church and its grounds at 4.25 and can recommend stopping by.
