Not the 1st time I have dived with these guys. Once again an incredible, and safe experience.
I was travelling from the UK and wanted to include some diving into my tight 1 week schedule. Contact was made by email prior to the trip. I had four others in my party that were to be attempting try dives so it was important to use a trusted dive centre. Everything was booked prior to arrival, and on the arranged day we were picked up as planned from our hotel.
Instruction for the new divers was impeccable, as expected. Guided practice was done with patience, and consideration. Equipment was of good standard, and upkeep.
The house reef at Sahl Hasheesh is truly a joy to dive. The visibility was exceptional. Water calm, and warm. 27’c in late October. The diversity of sea life is amazing. Really does show that deeper is not necessarily better. My guide Stephan was amazing. He is a very calm diver, also very experienced on the house reef. He was able to search out things I would have easily missed. I managed a new personal best of 102 mins on single dive with air to spare. Took some amazing photos and video. Turtles, Octopus, Lion Fish, Cuttlefish and much more.
Can’t leave this review without mentioning Dive Master Hansi. He truly is a font of all knowledge diving Egypt. I really enjoyed picking his brains about life in Egypt.
If you are thinking of attempting diving for the first time, or a seasoned veteran and find yourself in the proximity of a SUBEX dive centre. Give them a go. You won’t be disappointed.

Super entspannt sehr nett , gern wieder ,nicht die billigsten aber jeden Cent Wert. Vom Hausriff war ich überrascht ich hätte es nicht so schön erwartet. Was fehlt ist ein Schlauchboot .

Leuke, aardige en vriendelijke gidsen. (Johan, Hansi, Patrick) Ze weten alles goed uit te leggen. Briefing en de de-briefing heel duidelijk. Service is heel goed.
Meneer Karim is zo aardig, beslist iemand die mij heel goed geholpen heeft. Zeker na 2 jaar corona niet gedoken te hebben
Puntje van aandacht: De shop zou veel meer uitgebreid kunnen worden. Nu deed ik op bestelling alles in orde maken, kwam uiteindelijk wel goed, maar een shop zou leuk zijn.
We hebben het echt naar ons zin gehad bij Subex.
Jammer dat de pier gesloten was. Hier kan de duikschool niets aan doen. Maar puntje voor aandacht voor het hotel. Maak als hotel een eigen pier.

Es war wieder soweit - Tauch- Erholungsurlaub stand an.
Dieses mal 13.06.22-25.06.22
Da meine Partnerin aus gesundheitlichen Gründen nicht tauchen kann, waren folgende Kriterien für mich neben dem Tauchen wichtig.
Ich wollte das man sich außen unbeschwert bewegen kann und nicht so wie oft anderorts in Ägypten auf sein Hotel begrenzt ist.
Sahl Hasheesh bietet mit Subex für mich genau das was ich gesucht habe.
Wir sind auch dieses mal im Tropitel abgestiegen. Das Hotel liegt etwas unterhalb der Kategorie des Baron Palace. Für uns wäre es etwas schöner dort gewesen, wenn die anderen Gäste nicht zu so einem hohen Anteil aus Arabischen Ländern gekommen wären. Deren Lärmpegel und Verhalten empfanden wir doch etwas störend. Das hatten wir die anderen male so nicht in Erinnerung. Das nächste mal würde ich wahrscheinlich ein "Adulds only Hotel" buchen, dann sollte es entspannter zugehen.
Als Wiederholungstäter wusste ich, was mich hier bei Subex erwartet.
Das war auch der Grund genau wieder hier tauchen zu gehen.
Ich wurde auch dieses mal nicht enttäuscht!
Ich will objektiv sein, deshalb hier mal die negativen Sachen voran.
Der Steg zum Hausriff war in der Zeit in der ich vor Ort war wegen Reparatur geschlossen. Somit musste man den Weg durchs Wasser gehen. Da hat die Basis aber keinen Einfluss darauf.
Auch die zweite Sache ist nicht der Basis zuzuordnen sondern eher der Unachtsamkeit anderer Gäste.
Einmal brach ein Gast ein kopfgroßes Stück Fächerkoralle ab, das andere mal wäre, wenn Patrick nicht so umsichtig eingegriffen hätte, wahrscheinlich ein Seepferdchen gestorben.
Damit war´s das aber auch schon mit den negativen Dingen die das Tauchen angehen.
Habe in den über 20 Jahren die ich tauche keinen weiteren Ort auf der Welt gefunden wo ich die Kombination so erleben durfte.
Schöne, entspannte Tauchgänge in kleinen Gruppen in einem intakten genial markierten Hausriff.
Hier wird man vom Anfang bis Ende fachlich und freundlich betreut. Fühlt sich dazugehörig, unter gleichgesinnten kurz Freunden.
Die Basis ist gut strukturiert und das von mir benutzte Leihmaterial war top.
An der Stelle vielen Dank an
Ayman für die netten Mails schon im Vorfeld und die Unterstützung Vorort.
Machmut für seinen tatkräftigen Einsatz.
Kai & Patrick für die wunderschönen geführten Tauchgänge und die tollen Gespräche.
Stephan für die Videos und Bilder von dem einem Tag (Meine Cam ist mir ja ab gesoffen und so hatte ich wenigstens ein paar die ich meinem Buddy zu hause zeigen konnte). Wünsche Dir auf Deinem weiteren Weg alles Gute.
Grüße gehen auch an alle anderen raus: Hansi, Verena und Johann (Ihn durfte ich dieses mal auch kennen lernen).
Mit Patrick als Guide durfte ich meinen bis jetzt längsten Tauchgang mit 100 Minuten loggen.
Cool war das Simone, den ich in anderen Subex Tauchurlauben kennen lernen durfte, vorbeischaute.
Wenn Leute wie er, privat mit der Familie aus der Heimat, hierher kommen um ab zu tauchen, dass sagt doch schon alles.
Für mich ist das Konzept das hier gelebt wird einfach schlüssig.
Man zahlt zwar etwas mehr als wo anders, aber bekommt ordentlich was für sein Geld.
Warum soll ich am Tag 3 oder 4 Tauchgänge machen, mich jedes mal anziehen, wenn ich mit 2 mal auch 3 Std. unter Wasser sein kann.
Noch dazu muss man ja nur 2 TG zahlen. Unterm strich ist man hier sogar günstiger als anderorts.
Und der Partner der nicht tauchen kann, hat auch noch was von einem am Tag.
Ich habe 9 Tauchgänge gemacht und war weit über 12Std. unter Wasser.
Auch dieses mal gab es wieder einiges zu sehen, und da die Riffe nicht so tief sind, sind die Farben noch schöner als bei Spots die tiefer liegen.
Und mein Traum mal ein Seepferdchen zu sehen ist auch in Erfüllung gegangen.
Danke für das schöne Abenteuer, es hat mir viel gegeben und ich werde noch lange davon zehren können.

Having just returned from ten days of diving with SUBEX Sahl Hasheesh, I can honestly say that this is one of the best organized dive centers I have ever experienced. Then again, they are Swiss, so I guess that's no surprise!
The dive base is clean and tidy, with very well thought out lockers (full height double width lockers, not just the "cubby hole" style you tend to see) to easily store all of your equipment between dives. The cleaning and drying area is likewise well put together and very easy to navigate. There's a separate lounge corner for briefings and log book entries with a large map of the house reef (more about that later) and fish guides to help you figure out what you saw on your dives. The ultimate luxury touch has to be the warm showers which are just amazing after a dive (I will probably miss these in every dive center I visit from now on!). Every tank ("literox" 28% standard!) is always and exactly 200 bar. The pickup is always on time.
On to the diving ;)
The house reef is actually quite nice! Of course it won't give adrenaline junkies much to write about, but it's perfect for a long chilled out dive. A pretty good array of small to medium sized reefs, surprisingly good selection of sea life (rays of all sizes, sea horses, octopus, nudies, and all the usual suspects in terms of red sea fishes). Local legend (i.e. Patrick) swears that there is a turtle in the sea grass out by the "Gamma" reef, but I never saw it... will have to come back and look again ;). The reef complex is also big enough that you can spend several days diving it and see a variety of things, so you never get bored. I was lucky to dive with two experienced buddies during my time, meaning that we could dive independently and set our own schedule (it's nice to lie in sometimes!)
I also spent four days (eight dives) on the SUBEX boat out of Hurghada - which is a "must do" for those divers looking for a little adventure. The same "great organization" theme from the dive center applies to the boat - you can really tell that it was put together by divers for divers. Pickup and transfer from the hotel to the harbour and back was always on time, and your kit is always in the right place (plus rinsed and dried between boat days). Dive guide Hamada knows the area like the back of his hand and can find you exactly the experience you want. A special shout out to the Red Sea Wall drift which was absolutely amazing.
All in all, could not be happier with my experience with SUBEX. If you are looking for a clean, safe, and well organized dive center that nevertheless leaves you the freedom to enjoy yourself then look no further than this little piece of Swiss clockwork on the coast of the red sea!

It's my third time diving with Subex at Baron Palace Sahl Hasheesh, and it is always a good experience. It is a joy to see the same friendly team managed by Johan and Verena with the help of Hansi and Patrick and Hamada as dive guides, with Kai a young new recruit. The boat crews are experienced and helpful and remain faithful to Subex, so from year to year one dives with friends rather than with service providers. I did a beautiful dive with Patrick on the house reef, and two boat tours with my family (who are happy snorkelers), one to the north of Hurghada (Umm Gamar), and the other to the south (Got Abu Ramada). The choices were very good, in both cases spectacular dive sites with healthy corals and plenty of various fishes. It is really great to dive with Patrick who loves his job and sharing his vast experience of diving. I did my Nitrox certification with him.

Experienced 13 great dives in the phantastic housereef and also on several boat trips close to Hurghada. I am quite an experienced, but still typical holiday diver that has forgotten many things about diving after a break of an year or even longer. Therefore, for me the service (including atmosphere) is almost more important than the diving spot itself. The very experienced and friendly Subex team of Sahl Hasheesh has fulfilled these expectations and could really enjoy my diving holidays! Thank you Subex!

Great experience, took a lot of time to plan the dive and explain everything. Perfect start if you had a longer break. Very often I feel rushed, this was not the case at all. Also handy that you can start your dive from the beach.

My husband and son are qualified diver s and we thinking of staying at sunset romance resort but would also like to snorkel, is it any good? Anything near by as they like to keep busy!
My 16 year old is also interested in doing his advanced padi, is this something you offer please?

Hi my son and I are visiting later this week and would like to know what diving you offer apart from the house reef ? And approximate cost please. We also have our own gear but have not had chance to have our regulators serviced, is this something you could do ?

What the price of your dives is it cheap more you do

The price depends on many factors, like how many dives you want to do and if you bring your own equipment or if you need to rent. Do you need an instructor/guide or are you an experienced diver with a buddy? We can send you an individual offer if you contact us

Hello, Me and my husband are staying at the Baron Palace, Sahl Haseesh for 3 days from November 17th. Since I am pregnant, we cannot dive the red sea, however we are very keen on some casual snorkelling. I would like to know about good snorkelling spots closeby and what we are likely to see. Also do you undertake snorkelling boat trips or is it straight from the beach? Thanks very much!

Yes, you can snorkel right in front of the beach of the Baron Palace and you can discover a big variety of marine life. We also do offer boat trips.
