the museum has an amazing collection of art. Must see the Jade Room, the cuckoo clock, the ivory chariot and the Nizams clothes.
The antiques are so well preserved, and the Museum is well maintained , hence it is a pleasure to see and admire.

It is one of the largest one-man collections of antiques and art in the world and showcases the personal collection of Salar Jung III, a former Prime Minister of the Hyderabad state. The museum has a vast collection of sculptures, paintings, manuscripts, clocks, and other artifacts.

You must & should only visit such places if you have an eye for the art & artifacts. Else, you would not enjoy it.

It is a the best museum in India with artifacts from across the globe. Each individual will find something of their interest in many of their rooms. Booking the E-ticket prior is a good idea during the holiday season. Adequate refreshments and seating area at different places in the museum for the elderly. The layout is friendly for the differently abled.

Visited the museum and was much informative. Properly managed the museum had many collections of variety of different culture having ihistorical importance. The location was very peaceful . Shows being held giving detailed explanation attended by visitors.. Students were visiting at that time and overcrowded. Ticket was Rs 50, and Rs 50 if taking photos. Restaurant was available nearby. Wash room facilities were not adequate.

While this museum is overcrowded, it houses an impressive collection of items from around the world. This is honestly one of the best museums I have ever seen and it is worth at least 3 hours or even half a day!

I had read a lot about the Salar Jung museum before visiting it as it is one of the top tourist attractions in Hyderabad. The best section of this museum is the Ivory artefacts on display which are simply amazing. The fine carving and craftwork is something you should not miss out on. Other than this, there is a small clock tower which is supposed to be the showstopper. Every hour, a miniature soldier comes out of the clock tower and rings the Gong. This was a big disappointment for me and feel it is overhyped. Other than these, the museum has a wide range of artefacts and collection that depicts the ancient history of the city.

Hi, it's about Rs. 30 for parking. It's inside the museum complex itself.

Why are you wailing for entrance fee discrimination (?) at SJM?
How much do you pay for Tower of London? If you have ever visited it, know for sure. Its £26.80 =2435.25.
Actually Indians are stupid crooks. They don't have positive intelligence.
Solution lies in charging at par for all in visitors' currency. Unit currency for all almost has same buying power. One cup of tea in India in street side stalls costs ₹ 3-5, where as it costs £3-5 for kitchen window stalls in UK.
SJM must make the entry fee like ₹20, £20, $20, DM20, €20 for stopping heart burning and cosequent wailing. Except British Museum, all charge hefty entrance fee, be it Louvre, Hermitage (Эрмитаж) $ 17.95
, Tritiakov Gallery, National Art Gallery, Madame Tussauds, Eiffel Tower (€25=₹2031.06).
Display of insanity is not a good idea. Once upon a time life in the planet after WWII became as lovely as flower, visas were free and easy to obtain in single day, most Museums were charging almost nil, allowed camera or even bags inside without any restriction, no security body search. Except for few exhibits like Picasso's painting at National art gallery, one could snap with flash gun even. Subsequently, stupids made the human civilisation slide to worst. Entrance fee hike, security checks including frisking (strip searching in the offing), deposit of everything have become nuisance as the downgradation of human civilization continues. Every body is reponsible for it, people not knowing how to live life worth living.

Firstly, i disagree with disrespecting any nationality's citizens, Secondly, Europe and US are totally different from India, the difference in currency, in monuments, in it's citizens is clearly visible. I believe that comparison does not exists here. The fee is nominal according to me for everyone. This fee would in turn contribute to the comfort of the tourists itself. The disparity in fee is due to the disparity in currency. 1$ = 71.38 Indian Rupee. Salarjung museum clearly displays the fee for Indians and the Fee for Foreigners. A particular country has not been named, it is viable for any tourist and there are many countries and their currencies.
Thirdly, security is a must in every monument in India for the preservation of our rich heritage delicacies and for the protection of anyone who is visiting that place. To avoid any attacks and any anti activities, security checks are a must. If security would have been nil, our cultural and heritage would had been destroyed and we would not had been able to preserve them.
As Indians we welcome our guests and believe it as our duty to protect them.

Yes, they charge for taking pictures. You have to purchase that separately. Truth is the museum is not photo worthy. Plenty of Kodak moments elsewhere!
