‪Must visit if in Ahmedabad‬

‪I have lived in Ahmedabad for over 15 years, but recently decided to go on this walk. Absolutely loved it. The guide was extremely informative. Definitely a must when visiting the city. The walk ends with a delicious breakfast (not included).‬

‪An excellent 2.5 hrs walk ..Story telling guided Rendezvous with The UNESCO Heritage Old City Heritages..‬

‪The First thing which was fixed in our Amdavad itinerary was this Heritage walk..and we feel that..Amdavad tour is incomplete without this walk..
We started from Swami Narayan Mandir..
The Guide..Mr. Mustafa was very politely n with slow pace..taken us to the lanes of the Heritage City..with brilliant way of interactive story telling..
He made us relive all the places..with brilliant way of telling the history..
AS if Kavi Dalpatram recite infront of us..or we can visualize the 1st Fashion show at Calico dome
His Narration over uniqueness of Kala Ramji Temple n explaining the Minute details of Shantinathji Mandir is beyond excellence..
The Architecture..the degree of Heritage..the finding of a secret lanes..the Poles ..The Book market and old Stock Exchange..The visualization of Night market of Manek Chowk..mesmerized us..
After Badshah No Hajiro n Rani no Hajiro..we finally reached Jama Masjid..the tour ..a Walk from Mandir to Masjid..we learn a lot between the road of this journey..
The Special Mentioned must be the breakfast at famous heritage Chandravilas eateries..thats too delicious Gujrati Morning Snacks..
We are really overwhelmed of the total trip and strongly mentioned it is a Must do who Visit and want to explore the heritage City Amdavad...The True essence one can feel on this walk..‬

‪Heritage Walk - Morning ‬

‪We had a wonderful walk this morning with Sanket ji, one that was filled with small details, awe-inspiring stories, and a delightful breakfast. The heritage tours are overseen by the Ahmedabad municipal corporation and operated by local tourist companies and their guides.
Our walk began at 745 from the Swaminarayan Temple at Kalupur, and over the next 2.5 hours took us through the old city, ultimately ending near Manek Chowk.
We booked our tour through the Gujarat tourism website - I literally called one of the listed numbers in the website and we went from there.
Highly recommended, and if you’re going through Akshar Travels, then ask for Sanket ji :-)‬

‪Amazing streets filled with interesting architecture and culture‬

‪We had a 4 hour walk through the back streets of old Ahmedabad led by guide, Lala. The old city is filled with interesting havelis, mosques, temples and cemeteries. Every corner you felt like you back in time where there was a cobbler, stone smith and even man you paid to get your weight. A beautiful experience filled with friendly people.‬

‪Major Architecture of Ahmedabad to explore‬

‪this is one of the best places to visit in Ahmedabad. I loved this sightseeing very much as you will have a glimpse of how old rulers used to live and the buildings they made. it will be an informative and fun-loving walk. I would recommend visiting once if you are in Ahmedabad. ‬

‪Heritage of Ahmedabad‬

‪I did it myself without any guide just reading tripadvisor. Started at 6 and was done by 7:30 am. Don't miss it in Ahmedabad.
Went to the Shwaminarayan temple, a Jain temple, Jame Masjid, Rani no Hajiro and Badshah no Hajiro. Missed the Sidi Sayed mosque.
Walk peacefully in the morning as streets are empty. Enjoy the calmness and the heritage.
I recommend to take a guide for deeper understanding. ‬

‪Disappointing compared to previous tours‬

‪This was our 3rd heritage walk - as you can see we obviously enjoy them - but we were very disappointed with this one. The walks seem to have become more popular since Old Ahmedabad's World Heritage status was awarded, and while this can only be good thing, there needs to be more tours offered as the size of the group on our tour was way too large for us to gain any meaningful insight. Most of the time we couldn't hear the guide as there were too many people between us and him, and although he was quite professional he didn't seem to have the genuine passion for the tour that the previous (volunteer) guides had. I'm sure these tours could be as good as they were in the past - the group size just needs to be smaller!‬

‪I went for a heritage walk in Ahmedabad. The walk started from the Swami Narayan mandir and ended in Jama Mashjid. The multi-religious and multi-cultural fabric of the old city was evident from its buildings, famous landmarks and architecture. Got to experience the fafda and jalebi too. It was an enjoyable experience and worth trying out once!‬
