‪If you are someone who enjoys visiting museums, this is THE place for you. I am truly happy that I went here alone and could spend time indulging in the fabrics, artworks, and sculptures.
If you go here, don't rush through the rooms. They are created and curated in a manner that is to be experienced.
The park around the museum is quite nice too!‬

‪The building is lovely, inside and out.
It is packed with interesting historical artefacts, paintings and many beautiful objects. No photos allowed.
It is well worth visiting, situated in well-kept gardens so you can take time to relax once you have seen everything.‬

‪The museum is amazing. It contains lots of articles during the era of Sayaji. The location is easily accessible even with local transportation. Take your kids to this place they will enjoy.‬

‪This was our second visit here,
The art works are a real delight, with something for everyone - from magnificent Raja Ravi Varma paintings, to the lesser European masters, to a variety of statues and an aesthetes delight of Chinese and Japanese porcelain and 'china'.‬

‪Baroda Museum and Picture Gallery.
The driver dropped us at the gate of Sayaji Baug (Garden) and went in search of a parking place. We followed the signboards to Baroda Museum and Picture gallery and after about 10 to 15 minutes of walking reached the Museum building.
During the walk saw a fair amount of people locals as well as tourists. Sayaji Baug appeared to be a big as well as popular place.
The Museum was established in Sayaji Baugh by Maharaja Sayaji Rao Gaikwad III in 1894 and a picture gallery was added in 1914. The museum building and the building housing the picture gallery is connected by a covered bridge.
The ticket counter is located under this bridge between the two buildings.
Photography is prohibited in the museum. As there is always a delay anywhere between the visit and the write-up many details are forgotten and the resulting write-up is likely to miss a few details.
Places, where photos are permitted even after the delay, between the visit and the write-up, looking at the photos, refresh the memory, and seeing the photos in sequence permits you to write about the place as the actual visit had progressed. Chances of missing out on important details is unlikely.
From what I can recall there were exhibits from India, Japan, China, Tibet, and a gallery of archaeological exhibits.
There were galleries of European and Indian paintings and galleries statues by European sculptors and artists. There were also wonderful and beautiful copies of famous statues like David & Moses etc.
The exhibits and the collection is really amazing, the range is vast and it becomes evident that a tremendous amount of time, resources, care, and thought had gone in the collection of thousands of exhibits.
If you really want to see the museum and the picture gallery make sure you have at least 3 to 4 hours.
Really it is a place worth visiting.‬

‪Well curated. Well maintained. A must visit for those who love history.

The European section was amazing. The building which houses the museum was a palace. Love the architecture!‬

‪Loved the Experience ! Artist in me was Delighted to see Art & Creations by Raja Ravi Varma ! I did not know anything about the Artist before visiting Vadodara! A friend suggested to check out his Arts Gallery and it was worth the visit ! Raja Ravi Varma is India's very own Picasso ~ I just don't know enough of our own ( India's) history & culture and Arts ! Go for it ! ‬

‪Baroda Museum and Picture Gallery is located inside Sayaji Baug is one of the best museums in India. It is not very big but has variety of galleries and the diversified collection. There is no provision for audio guide, if provided will be an added advantage to view. The Asian, European and African culture is depicted well through paintings, sculptures, miniatures, vessels. The huge skeleton of shark is worth visiting. The European paintings gallery is very beautiful. Photography is not allowed inside. Persons loving art can spend hours in this museum. The Museum building is worth looking at from outside too for its unique shape.

‪Good place, worth visiting. However Ticket increased from Rs 10 to Rs 100 post corona, which appears to be high for a Govt operative place. Provision of Audio Guide is essential but not avl . ‬
