This place is beautiful at the time of snowfall… as the surrounding mountains turns white and the grass area within Pari Mahal looks lile a white playground…

This is the last garden in otherway from Shalimar and Nishant Garden. On this route there are Nehru Botnical Garden and Chesma shahi. It is a 5 minutes’ drive from Chesma Shahi through a narrow forest road. As the road is behind the Governor’s house, so you have to get down from the cab at one point, frisked and if you have any luggage it will be scanned. Then you can sit and reach Parimahl. It is a 7 terraced garden. Basically ancient mahals at each layer with a little garden. The higher you climb the stiff stairs more is the beauty. Entry ticket is Rs.24/- per person.

The drive to Pari Mahal is very beautiful, read a little history before you go, it is beautiful with flowers and great view, built over seven stories it is a marvel of Medieval Engineering, another must do in Srinagar

Beautiful views of Srinagar including the Dal Lake and the golf course, but ensure to visit early to avoid crowds. Climbs across different levels are very easy. Can be combined with a visit to Chashme Shahi

Visited this place on the first day of our Kashmir trip. Its one of the famous tourist attractions in Srinagar. The view from the top is fantastic and you can take lots of photographs with your family and friends. It provide a panoramic view of the city and Dal Lake. Please make sure that you visit this place when the weather is good/morning/evening.

During my Tarsar Marsar Trek many people recommended this Pari Mahal because of its views. So we decided to visit this place positively during our time in Srinagar. We hired a scooty for one day and decided to roam in Srinagar. We had to cross Chashme Shahi on our way before reaching a beautiful forested road which led us to Pari Mahal. We parked our vehicle near the entrance, got our tickets and entered the complex. The gardens are spread across various layers with a beautiful mahal in each layer. It is believed that Emperor Shah Jahan's son Dara Shiko had lived here for some time. The view of the Dal Lake and the surrounding hills from the garden were just awesome. We clicked some awesome photos from here. Unfortunately the day was a super sunny one and the heat dampened our mood to a great extent. So most of the time we rested in the shade of the trees in the garden. I would have loved it if the weather was a bit cooler and we could have explored the place with a bit of ease.
We sat for quite some time, took some nice shots and then left the place. We also saw a small hiking root towards the right of the entrance. We would have loved to explore that but the heat made us decide otherwise. If you are in Srinagar during the summers, try to visit the Pari Mahal during the sunset so that you can beat the heat.

Narrow forest road leads up to Pari Mahal from Dal Lake
You will cross Chashme Shahi Gardens on the way.
The road passes through the back gate of governor house where all the guests have to get down from the car and walk a little distance to board the car again.
Luggage if any will be X-rayed
Entry ticket is Rs 24 per person.
Garden is laid out in four terraces.
There is a beautiful view of Dal Golf Course from the top.
Rose garden is situated on the third terrace
Public conveniences are available on the top terrace
The building in the garden is in ruins
A kiosk is available for taking pictures in Kashmiri dress for Rs 150-200
Tea and cold drinks are available in another kiosk nearby.
Presently go up ten stairs and then take wheel chair for third terrace.
Wheel chairs is available but it has to be lifted up the stairs. A ramp is being constructed up to the second terrace.
The stairs to upper terraces ( around 20) are uneven not maintained properly and quite high and difficult to climb by the seniors.
There is a small parking area in front where free parking is available.
Since the approach road is narrow and it is difficult to reverse the car from the parking area, it is better to alight from the car a little distance before the garden and walk up. By the time you return, the driver will reverse the car. This way you can save time by avoiding traffic jam on a busy day.
Don't take vehicle till the top
Entry is open from 9.30 AM-5.30 PM. Once inside, you can stay until 8 PM.
Time required to see the place is around 1-2 hours.

Yet another wonderful Mughul garden in Srinagar, these historic features alone are worth visiting the city. Here the terraces are built taller with less cascading waterfalls but the whole structure is as strikingly beauti-ful as Nishat.

Hi,
Normally the tourist places you will be visiting are safe so far. If you hire a tourist taxi from good travel agent, the car driver will advice you if there are any weather warning by Met dept - around the places you wish to visit. Happy holidays.

from Dal lake,Parimahal is barely few kms. as it depends on which Gate(Ghat)u start from, from farthest it could be 5kms at max. Shankaracharya Hill,Nehru Gardens,Parimahal,Mughal Gardens,Chashma Shahi,Nishat Baag,Shalimar,Tulip Garden, all are on the same road ringing Dal Lake.
