The drive itself is beautiful, sorrounded by mountain and long quiet stretch of road, blue sky. I was travelling with my cousin and we felt immense peace upon entering.
We had had our lunch there, Langkar. Took some for our family back at Chandigarh.
Overall, blessed to be there

This serene place on the way to the Sangam viewpoint is managed by the army, providing a tranquil and well-maintained environment. Ample parking space is available, and there are restroom facilities conveniently located near the parking area.
Upon arrival, visitors are required to remove shoes and even socks as they walk through water before entering the shrine. Headgear is provided, or visitors can use their own. Photography is allowed, and capturing moments with the stone is a common practice.
Inside the Gurudwara, an original photo of Shri Nanak Devji is prominently displayed on one of the walls. A large dining hall is available for Langar during lunch hours, fostering a sense of community and hospitality. For a spiritual experience, visitors can climb some steps behind the main Gurudwara to reach Tap Isthaan.
Opposite the Gurudwara, on top of a hill, stands a Nishaan Sahib, symbolizing the spot where a stone thrown at Guru Nanak Dev Ji melted upon touching him, transforming into wax. This Gurudwara offers not only a place of worship but also a historical and serene setting for reflection and connection with Sikh history.

Lovely place to visit. Very peaceful and serene . Great hospitality. This is run by the army and they they explain the enticing history and mythical tales associated with this site in a very captivating way. Situated amidts the mountains the location itself is very beautiful. This is a good stop enroute

Relatively peaceful and unhurried with pleasant background music, it was nice to visit this place. There seem to be two points of emphasis - firstly recognising the first guru’s visit here near Leh and secondly recognition of the military contribution of Sikh soldiers in conflicts in the region.

A Sikh temple commemorating where the first Sikh Guru Nanak vanquished a demon. The site is also revered in the Buddhist religion. The famous rock of the story can be seen there. Obviously of more religious significance than tourists.

Also make sure to eat food (free) when in gurudawara.

Must visit.. history is unbelievable… . It is popularly believed that Guru Nanak vanquished a demon who was trying to crush him with a boulder. However, the boulder that the demon rolled down turned soft and melted and instead of hitting him, and took on Guru Nanak's shape. In 1970, a boulder was discovered that is believed to be the one in the story with Guru Nanak's shape still carved in it. The Indian Army, along with the local people, constructed this gurudwara to pay homage to this event and all cars passing this route make sure to stop to pray and seek blessings.

The story of how the Gurudwara came to being is indeed interesting, and the chai and Langar here is to die for!
Having said that, I won't categorise it to be a must visit. If you are travelling to Ladakh solely to experience the culture or are short on time, you may choose to skip this attraction.

Just go to the main taxi stand in Leh, you will get shared taxis. Better would be to give your contact details to them, they will coordinate.

Kasunthi, the sight seeing in Leh Ladakh region depends upon how many days you are planning to spend. However I will give you options based on number of days you have :
1 Day : Only Leh Town and Gurudwara Pathar Saab.
2 Days : in addition to above, I recommend you drive down to Pangong Tso Lake and fall back to Leh.
3 Days : Spend first day in Leh Town, Second Day in Nubra Valley and Diskit, third day in Pangong Tso.
Now is not the time to visit Leh due to winters. Best period is from April to October.

My suggestion is that one must plan your trip in advance. Booking such trips helps and also the hotel where you stay is able to guide you very well.
