Picturesque and quiet place ringed with hills and having a nice cool weather. Although there is not much to see except the natural beauty, it is surrounded with many rivers, streams and waterfalls. Few hotels with basic amenities available.

It is a beautiful place with pristine Sal and Pine forests. I visited the place second time after a lapse of 55 years. Not much of change is visible since then. It is a place for doing nothing. Just relax , unwind and enjoy the sunrise and sunset.
Loved it once again.
There are a few hotels and resorts but the Pravat Kiran Guest House run by the Latehar Range is the best option.

A 3-4 hours drive from Ranchi, Netarhat is a wonderful hill station. Although many people go there to watch the sunrise and sunset, but the entire place is wonderful. If you want to relax and stay in nature for a day or two Netarhat would be a very good choice.

Netarhat drive is very enjoyable with good stop spots (small waterfalls) on the ghats before Netarhat. Book in advance for place of stay as the place gets crowded over weekends and there are not many hotels in Netarat. A very good place to stay is the Lake View Resort, which also has pretty decent food and service of the staff is very good. Plan to reach by mid day and visit the Netarhat Boarding School, Chalet House and Upper Ghagri Falls and reach the Sunset point before sunset. Traffic at sunset point can get chaotic due to lack of adequate parking space, specially on holidays/weekends, hence plan to reach with time to park lest you miss the sunset. There is nothing to do post sunset and no liquor is available anywhere in Netarhat, carry your own liquor for the night. Next day see the sunrise at the Koel view point, which has a stall serving very good tea and head out to Lodh falls which is about 60 kms from Netarhat. If you check out of the hotel then you need not come back to Netargat from Lodh falls.Ground conditions were pretty wet when we visited and hence we did not go to the lower Ghagri falls as the approach road is a mud track and vehicles can get stuck. A couple of things that need to be planned well is meals and snacks as Netarhat or adjoining places do not have a very many options where you can grab meals. One needs to be extra careful while driving on the Ghats near Netarhat as the truck drivers of the trucks carrying bauxite ore are pretty reckless and rash.

Quite a few places have come up for staying in Netarhat. from privately run Home stay, guest house to Gov run Prabhat Viharwhich is addina deluxe section. Stayed at the oldest place Dak Banglow, Very relaxing stay with homely type food, lots of open space to laze under the sun.
The Hill town has got a makeover for tourism and looks at par with some of the best hill towns. Apart from the mentioned tourist spots, a walk in the town is very satisfying. The school is worth mentioning, with numerous play fields may be more than 10.
Try fresh milk from the diary and desi chicken.
BSNL and Jio connects only.for mobile call and net.
Enjoy the sound of silence, it is worth visit.

Netarhat is undoubtedly best place in Jharkhand to visit. Located in Lathehar district its 4 hour journey from Ranchi airport or station. Taxi is available from station or airport. Direct buses are very few one has to go to lohardaga and from there to Netarhat but best way to go is by taxi as you can also visit Palamu wild life sanctuary which is around 2 hr from Netarhat. As one reaches to Netarhat they will find them surrounded by tall pine tree and lush green jungle. its famous for its sunset and sunrise. I highly recommend this as it will be life time experience. This place could become hottest destination among tourists but lack of government effort and fear of naxalites has made this place far from reach of tourist, roads are not proper and not safe. not will connected by major city, lack of resort and hotels, underdeveloped attractions. Its shame to see such a place getting ruined due to government apathy. but if you are nature lover please visit it once.

this place is a darling..a boutique town 8 km long with lovely natural nature if I may call it so. Every place within 5-6 kms...

Netarhat is a Small Hill station. Better to visit in the month of November. The sunrise view from Probhat Bihar hotel and sunset at Magnolia View point is excellent.

We started our journey from Ranchi with a stay over at Betla National Park , Palamu and then to Netarhat. The drive was scenic with Koel river providing additional beauty at every turn. The ascend towards Netarhat deserves a special mention . We witnessed the splendid sunset and then made our way towards the Revenue Guest House which was very nice. The sunrise view from the rooms are other worldly. The breakfast was sumptuous and the rooms well appointed.

Is Netarhat is safe for Tourists.. I want to go with family but heard a lot about Naxal there and had heard that netarhat has no Police station nearby, is it true
