‪Absolute delight for art lover and otherwise. For me the place is special, because interestingly i met my life partner here. For us this place has a different meaning.
We keep going back to Chitrakala Parishat quite often. And yes chitrasanthe is the favorite time to go. it occurs (mostly) on the first Sunday of January (they keep shifting the date now but it is mostly on a Sunday on January. It is an extravaganza in itself and one must visit if you plan to travel to Bangalore in January.‬

‪Karnataka Chitrakala Parishat is an art museum with a lot of types of art work. They have statues and paintings. There are many galleries and a documentary. It is a very good place to visit. Behind the art museum is an art college.‬

‪Revelry of invigorating folk art‬

‪Every year, the modest lovely Diwali Festival stalls sell lots of wares at Karnataka Chitrakala Parishat from the different states of India. Huge ceramic pots, wooden, glass and metal arts and lights, tops, skirts, sarees, bedsheets, table cloths and food. 5PM and the folk art dance performers arrive. Soon, children and adults from the audience join in this hearty colourful invigorating revelry of dance and music. This year's festival concludes today, Sunday 23rd October 2022. This is just one short extension of this art gallery's various activities.‬

‪The complex has 18 galleries. 13 of these galleries carry a permanent collection of paintings, sculptures and folk art. The other galleries are rented out for exhibitions of works by artists of repute. The folk art collection showcases Mysore paintings and leather puppets. The Parishat runs the College of Fine Arts, a visual arts college.‬
