I purchased sandal perfume . Since they dont let us check the perfume, we just purchased it and took it home. After opening we realised it's not sandal but Jasmine perfume. Since this was just before covid I couldn't make any complaint as travelling was restricted. Next time I came with 3 of my friends for buying sandal perfume, since its a reputed shop , I requested them to let me check the perfume after making payment and in case it's not sandal, kindly replace it. I talked to 5 people and everyone said , talk to manager. And finally they told manager is not available, come tomorrow. What kind of service is this. I am paying for the stuff and not buying for free. Being such a big outlet , I never thought they will behave this way.. it's really disappointing. And I will never suggest anyone this place to buy stuff..because even after paying money, if it's bad.. they will not entertain you doesn't care about the customer at all. Really disappointing.

I visited this place last in October 2012 and I really loved it and that is why I visited it again but I did not find it as great as the last time but still, you should visit it once if you really like handicrafts.

The best place that I could find in Bengaluru for local crafts and the prices were pretty good. The purchasing process is a bit burdensome, firstly you get an invoice for the goods you want to buy which is then brought to the cashiers desk to be paid and then you are sent to a collection point to pick up your goods, but this is India!

We had bought carved elephant, exquisite paintings and they pack it very nicely for taking it overseas (gifting) as well for extra charge.

This is a Govt owned shop where you get authentic handicrafts. I always visit this place for Sandalwood crafts as gifts back home. Highly recommend this place over any of the other stores, where one is not sure of the authenticity or quality.

The Cauvery Emporium on MG Road is a large collection of all kinds of Indian handicrafts (clothing, sculptures, furniture) and a regular destination of city tourists. Be aware though that this is a government owned shop where prices can't be negotiated. Knowing something about how the art pieces themselves, I could tell the pricing is not competitive. Worth a visit, nonetheless.

This place has a extremely large selection of Indian handicrafts (wood, metal, jewelry, handbags, scarfs) made by highly skilled craftsmen with great detail. Prices are little higher but you get the quality value of the work. There are many carvings made of sandalwood and rosewood too. It is government owned so prices are good and no bargaining here. This is worth the trip for authentic Bangalore India handicrafts!

I found a cauvery handicrafts carving of a girl sitting cross legged with a jar of possible honey or butter in one hand and the other hand is up near her mouth...she has a feather in her hair also. And is adorned with anklets and bracelets....my girlfriend and I were very recently introduced and very receptive to Hinduism....can some one tell us who this carving is? I have a photo.....thank you
Yes it is Lord Krishna. He has stolen the pot of butter and is busy eating it. His this form is dearly called 'makhanchor' . Makhan is butter and chor means thief. The feather in his hair are that of peacock and it symbolizes the all seeing eye
