‪One of the most famous churches of Mangalore is the Bejai Church. More than 1250 families are coming under this church. It has one small and one big hall, well-placed cemetery, CBSE school, primary and higher primary schools, huge commercial complex for revenues and a small ground. Every day there are two masses. Christmas, Easter and other festivals are celebrated grandly in this church.‬

‪Bejai Church (St. Francis Xavier Church)‬

‪One of the most famous churches of Mangalore is the Bejai Church, which is beneficial to more than 1250 families and about 6000 Roman Catholics living in Bejai parish. It is learnt that St. Francis Xavier Church of Bejai has been a cemetery (and a mortuary) chapel since 1869, where the priests from the Cathedral used to come and offer Sunday Mass. Only from March 22, 1912, on a regular basis, one Rev. Fr. Sebastian Noronha was appointed as the resident chaplain. The present church was built in 1924 by Rev. Fr. A.E. Colaco, which was then completed in 1937 by Rev. Fr. Leo Saldanha.‬

‪Excellent experience. I sat there for 30 minutes in a complete peaceful surroundings. Old paintings all over the wall, roof and sides. A must visit place.‬

‪Peaceful place‬

‪One of the oldest church in mangalore. Dedicated to St. Francis Xavier. Very clean, peaceful and quite place. There is a hall using for wedding and other functions. Must visit with family.‬
