I visited Munnar-thekkeday-Alleppey in Kerala, Ooty in TN and Coorg in Karnataka. The most beautiful place is Munnar a wonderland.

Vembanad lake Our trip to Vembanad lake was a unique experience, on 17.10. 2022, we reached Kumarakom and took a motor boat to explore this lake , 2400 sq km, approximately. It was large, and the sunshine sparkling on water body , with water birds like cormorant, kingfisher etc resting for a catch from water .

Boating was exhilarating in this lake and staying in a houseboat is a unique experience. The place is lined with coconut palms and the lake is a host to many migratory birds. The lake needs to be cleaned of plastic garbage which mars the beauty of the place.

I enjoyed with my wife as a Senior Citizens Couple. Excellent trip with clear sunny day. The lake is well maintained by Kerala Govt. as well as the visitors from several places. Lake is surrounded by full of several types of Spices. Any one can feel full of spices cent also free of air pollution.

We live in scotland and are fortunate to be surrounded by red kites and buzzards but nothing prepared us for the birdlife on the lakes and canals of Kumarakom. Eagles , Kites, kingfishers, egrets at every turn - water littles the size of dinner plates . We were lucky enough to be introduced to a local boatman by our driver - so returned early the following morning , to see the lillies in bloom

A small beautiful island in the vembanad lake. Very ideal spot to enjoy the natural beauty and best for photography. Boat ride and truly amazing experience. Before visiting Vembanad Lake I didn't think it was so excited. There are many houseboats and many people involved for bookings.The house boats moving from the Vembanad Lake looking from the resort was very beautiful. It was very relaxing when we travel in the boat. The sunset was amazing in the Vembanad Lake. It was a memorable experience.

The boating experience at the Vembanad lake was exhilarating. Being off-season, there was no crowd. We took a Shikara boat & were in the lake for 2 hours.

It is the largest fresh water lake in India. Also know as backwaters of Kerela. While in kerela you are definitely visiting.
The best way to experience is to take a full day tour on the houseboat or you could even stay during the night. Just remember the houseboat will dock in the evening as per government law there is no movement post 6pm in the evening.
I had taken a 6hrs which is considered as a full day houseboat from 11 am to 5 pm to get a complete experience of the lake and the houseboat.
It is a different experience as you are taken through a lot of canals and able to see various birds, different flora and fauna. Not to miss it gives you a lot of opportunities to click some amazing pictures.

We took a boat ride from Kumarakom, the backwaters lead to this beautiful lake, that's the longest in India and largest in the state of Kerala.
It's a pleasure watching the different types of houseboats floating on the shores and watching the variety of exotic birds that visit the lake.
