‪This is the most amazing sight you will behold in your lifetime.
A four hour journey through as it was made by God before human beings ruined it.
They allow only a limited number to enter daily..make sure you have called and booked well in advance. I would recommend a bus ride with Sasi who will non stop entertain you with his anecdotes and stories,😊.‬

‪A scenic place amid nature. Did see endangered lion-tailed macaque, Nilgiri languor , flying squirrel and so on. The watch-tower view was breathtaking‬

‪I encountered some issues during my visit. Unfortunately, it seems there was some discrimination as they charged me significantly more for a jeep ride instead of the bus, even though the local rate for the jeep was lower. This was quite disappointing.

I must say that I had some negative experiences, and it has left a bitter taste. I hope that in the future, tourists like me will be treated more fairly and that the park's management will be more transparent about their policies.

It's important to remember that many tourists, like myself, come from afar and invest both time and money in exploring new places. It would be wonderful if there was a more welcoming and equitable atmosphere for all visitors, regardless of their background.

The experience is not worth it. You go by jeep and can't even walk. All they provide is a half-kilometer walk, which is 300 meters. The Indians working there are racist. Just because you don't look like them, they make you charge double. I didn't like anything about it. Although the forest is beautiful, the experience with Indians is so bad. They are deceitful, treating white faces as a ATM. They lied to me to take a jeep instead of a bus just to make money from me. I regret coming to India and experiencing this kind of treatment; they just want your money.
You are making me speak badly about your country in foreign nations.‬

‪We get to see only the buffer zone since the core area of the National Park is a prohibited zone for humans. The maximum of views are available from the watch tower at the edge of the core of the forest. The trip is often mistaken for a Safari but it is not. Being a rain forest, the possibility of seeing any animal during the visitors' time of 0700 hrs to 1700 hrs is quite low. We did see a a large family of lion tailed macaque. But that should be treated as some sort of a lottery. The trip to the edge of the core zone takes about two hours. The route was a shocker. In the initial 8 kms or so we saw a plantation where coffee and pepper are cultivated. After this we came across a series of teak and Eucalyptus trees. Neither are conducive to sustenance of a rain forest. Due to some legal issue, there is no way these two 'counter productive' trees could be removed from that area either! Real shocker is the Eucalyptus. Teak hardly grows well in such areas and there must have been an exceptional idiot who managed to get planted so many numbers of tea here. The clockw tower indeed offers great views. The highlights of the views are River Kuntipuzha and the Poojappara. It is believved that Pandavas stayed here during their forest dwelling period and the name of the rain forest incidentally is Sairandhri indicating Panchali. The Poojappara is believed to be the place where the 5 brothers did pujas everyday during their stay in the location. The core area may get rains without any 'notice' . The drive is generally pleasant and if you are lucky, the driver can give insight in to why tourism is not exactly promoted here and how a proposal to construct a Hydel project here was scrapped. A good get away in Palakkad district.‬

‪The safari is a scam and completely ill thought out. Any safari in a tourist friendly place used open jeeps, with forward facing seating, high roofing and long windows. In addition most jeeps worldwide have transparent tops. The brainless idiot who thought up this safari has provided jeeps that are closed in on all sides have totally uncomfortable side seating and low roof pipes. Anyone whose height is over 5'5" will hit their head on iron pipes of the roofing repeatedly, considering the track which passes for roads are horrible. Be well advised to stay away.‬

‪One of the best natural treasures. Nature lovers find so much specialities here. People are friendly. Weather is enjoyable. Coolness and quietness is a special feature of Silent Valley. Accommodations are in want.‬

‪Love the idea of 'eco', 'World Heritage' etc however too many paradoxes.
Two dozen covered jeeps bounced their way up a track that meant the occupants can hardly see out.
Guide and driver understood no English and only spoke their scripted lines. I'm sure we thus missed out on a lot.
We've seen equally beautiful views without climbing the 30m watchtower, what is that all about?
Very expensive - hardly surprising with the staff required to implement the impressive beaurocracy: as well as showing all four passports I had to fill in my name and address on 3 separate occasions signing my signature a total of 5 times.
We were left with headaches from the 4 hour journey there and back, sadly we cannot recommend this trip‬

‪This part of western ghats is included in UNESCO world heritage site. It is called silent valley because of the absence of cicadas. It is 90km from Palakkad town. 400per person to sairandhri Safari and 1.5 m trek . Go to silent valley park website, call the number and book your safari. You won't be able to see animals, the time of the year that animals roam freely on safari road is February to March during which park may be closed. Go to park website and check. It is a rare biome with high species density.Hence people are allowed only in the bufferzone. To protect the biome, tourism activities are very less. You can explore the forest freely if you have written permission from DFO for research purposes. There are butterflies which are unique to this area, some birds , lion tailed Macau etc. There are elephants, tiger, some rare migratory birds etc which you may be able to see if you visit by 7 am but park safari starts only by 8 am and closes by 1 pm.‬

‪Silent Valley has been one of the most exciting visits if my life and changed the concept of National Parks. I personally like peace and nature, if you do too, this is the place for you. Get a quiet weekend, just the rhythm of nature and the birds chirping.
