We could only see it in the night as we passed by it. The lake is huge, and the surroundings are neat & beautiful. A favourite spot for both locals and visitors.

One more offbeat location for weekend trip is Hadshi. This is one best location for family outing. It is about 45km from pune city. It is located in Mulshi near kolvan village. Hadshi is famous for shri satya sai baba temple. This temple build on table land which is surrounded by beautiful mountains. Here you can enjoy flat table land covered with green lawn. There is statue museum near temple, kids enjoy that museum lot. Other points to visit in this trip are Tikona fort and pawana dam. In hadshi you will get one of most scenic view in Pune and to reach here you don't need to drive lot in traffic as well.

Very popular, highly crowded place around Pune for a monsoon visit.
Ideal for day visit with friends and family. Best time to visit is of course monsoon but always rushed with so many irresponsible and drunk riders/ drivers around here.
So unfortunately peak time is the one to be avoided

Good place of natural beauty. One can ride a bike and reach the place or use a car if with family/ friends. There are small stalls of food which provide snacks but at quite high rates. The main attraction is the nice breeze, panaoramic views of the lake and the nearby hills. The place becomes quite attractive in monsoons, ofcourse it also becomes risky due to heavy rains. Best time to visit is October to February.

Is there any access to public transport from mulshi to back in pune??

ثين, الهند28 مساهمة
Many state transport buses plying between Kokan (Mahad, Goregaon, Mangaon, Roha etc.) and Pune go via Mulshi (Tamhini Ghat). SO plenty of public transport options available. In addition to that, 6-seater rickshaws can take you up to Chandani Chowk from where you can enter Pune City by auto rickshaw, PMPML bus etc.
Can i take my mother there as she is not able to walk much.

I am unsure whether you went with your plan with your family. If plan has been postponed for any reason then here are few tips;
1. Mulshi dam is not at all a picnic spot.
2. Drive thru Tamhini ghat that stretches 33 km provides spectacular views.
3. Waterfall is there but unsure whether it will have water or not at this time. You need to carry extra set of clothes & towel if you are lucky to see waterfall which is at 150 meter distance from Village called Palse. Waterfall name is;
a) Palse water fall
b) Mallikarjun water fall
4. There are plenty of restaurants on route from Pune to Mulshi so nothing to worry on food matter.
Restaurants with excellent views of river bank are there.
If still want to know more pls read my detailed review on Mulshi Dam.

Atmantan Wellness Resort is there next to Palse or Mallikarjun Waterfall in Mulshi. It is 48 km from Pune. For knowing more info on it, please visit;
1. Reviews on trip advisor for Atmantan Wellness Resort
2. The website of Atmantan
Above two things will provide you the comfort feeling on this resort.
There are hotels & resorts on the way.
You have the choice to choose that gives you a good feel on safe stay.

You don't need any permissions to visit these picnic places around the dam... I have been there a couple of times myself and I have never been asked to take any permissions or pay anything.
Have a good trip!! Cheers!!

We are planning a family trip to Mulshi and Tamhini Ghat. Can you please tell us where exactly can we find waterfalls. Also is there a place where we can put up a tent and barbecue?
smayank2001

There are too many places where you can tent and barbecue.
You will get good place for tent and barbecue on top if you go up by taking bridge (single road) near mulshi dam.
you can find waterfalls between Mulshi and Tamhini.
I m planning to go there with my friends on 15th june i just want to know that can we swim there???
