The overnight camel safari was the absolute highlight of our trip. Waking up at 5am to watch the moon set and then the sunrise is something I’ll never forget.
We were able to do it just the three of us, and didn’t have to go in a large group, and sleeping under the stars was amazing. We definitely did not expect an actual bed, let alone white sheets to be on it.
Surprisingly it wasn’t even that cold at night (this is in March) and so we only really needed an extra jumper.
The food was really tasty and extremely plentiful. Food, water and entry to the abandoned village are all included in the price, but if you want any beer etc then you ask them to take it for you and pay extra for them.
The team taking us on the tour couldn’t have been better. They were good fun, personable, full of knowledge and had great English to convey all the info to us. Being local they have a true understanding of the desert (which is definitely what you want when you are out there).
Big thanks also to our camels, we couldn’t have done it without them!

What an amazing experience we had with Fatan. We found him on the internet and were quite curious how it would go but Fatan took us at this hands fro the first day. He organized shopping experiences and took us to a horse farm we wanted to see. But the highlight was the camel ride where we slept underneath the stars, what an experience. Fata and a friend list a fire and cooked home made food which was one of the best Indian food we had on our trip. There are lots of camel guides and other experience but I think if you want someone who gives all of this a very personal touch combined with a lot of knowledge about camels and the desert plus his very pleasant personality and smile, go for Fatan, you won't regret it.

Exceptional experience, the spot in the dunes is great, off the beaten track. Sambu, our camel, took good care of us, cooked us a delicious dinner and we spent an unforgettable night under the stars. 5-star organization from A to Z, very professional with a great sense of humor, thank you Fatan!

Fatan is an excellent guide and took care of us during our private tour. From pick up at our hotel to the drop off we were treated with the best of care. Well organised, easy and enjoyable half-day activity. Sunset was magnificent and it was great to spend some time stargazing in the quiet of the desert!
Food cooked was delicious and I’m sure staying overnight would be great too but if you are short on time this trip is perfect!
Can highly recommend for anyone!

The camel ride and the sunset were amazing! Fatan (our guide) guided us from the City Jaisalmer through the national park until the dunes. I experienced Fatan as a knowledgable person answering all our questions related to life, history, agriculture on the way. It was truly an enriching journey!

The whole experience was amazing! Fatan is very helpful and knowledgeable about the area, lots of interesting tips that you can only get from a local. He took us through the desert villages and national park, and finally we had a camel trip to the sand dunes to watch the beautiful sunset. I fully recommend! Thank you very much for everything.

Sleeping under the stars in the Desert has been an amazing experience!
Riding a camel and seeing all
The animals in nature has been unforgettable.
The tour is prefectly organized from the pick up, to the ride, the delicious foood and the setting of bed and warm blanket.
The owner of the agency was so kind, he let us shower after the tour and brought us to the train station !!
10/10

It was a fantastic experience, a night under the stars in the peace and quiet of the desert dunes. Fatan and Babà were unique travel companions they cooked us a great dinner and it was great to spend time with them! It was the most authentic desert experience I ever had, a cot under the starry sky, no light, no running water, no toilet and it was amazing!

I can’t express enough how special this experience was. From the moment fatan picked us up to when we finished, everything was impeccably organised. Fatan and sambo provided us with excellent service and the friendliest smiles. The food in the desert was delicious and our beds were some of the comfiest we’ve had travelling!. The camp was so peaceful and incredible to sleep under the stars. The way they are with the camels is extremely ethical and i will be recommending this trip with real deal safari to anyone visiting Jaisalmer - must do experience with the kindest people. Thank you fatan and sambo for giving me and my friends a once in a lifetime experience.

We did a 2 day 1 night camel safari with the real deal. We enjoyed the safari very much. Food was amazing, care of Kam our camel driver was fabulous, landscapes were beautiful, camels very relaxed and above this all it was very peacefull. No other tourists around. Thank you for the good and authentic experience, we really recommend it.

We will not only enjoy this tour. You will see how friendly Indian people are, how they are friends, their culture, their dance. We went 4 people and camped for 1 day. These orange owners have had a tremendous 2 days. I know you may be very indecisive, but do not worry about camping because these people have thought about everything and they have been doing this for years, all in all a very good and very good program. We took our family last March and were accommodated by Fatan.
Our kids, ages 4,6 and 8 had a blast. Fatan took care of our lodging and recommended a local place were we ate all 3 meals, from local food to Nutella pancakes.
The trip to desert was fantastic. We started with a safari jeep ride to one of the local towns, saw some ruins and the headed to the desert.
We did a 1.5hr ride (round trip) to the desert where we played in the dunes for a while. Afterwards we enjoyed dinner and a gypsy show.
I highly recommend Fatan and The Real Deal Camel Safari. Unforgettable experience.

The following is the email from fatan when my wife and I went this last October.
Not sure where you are from but my wife and I had a blast. Unlike anything we've done on a vacation fatan also helped book the train tickets as well.

1 night 2 days camel Safari
We start 8:00 am by the jeep 40 km in the thar desert on the way you can see some village. And then you ride on the camel take you more in the thar desert, that you seeing some village stopping for the lunch and the evenings you ridding again to the sand dune. On the sand dunes we camping seeing the sunset having the dinner around the camp fire, sleeping under the stars with warm blanket. In the next morning have the breakfast and then ridding again on the camel in middle of day stopping for lunch and in the evening I pick-up you by the jeep around 4:30 pm.
It’s cost you 1150rupees per day and per persons. Including camel, jeep, food, water, sleeping things, free pick-up from bus or train station, free shower and fresh-up at the my guest house, free keeping the bags, when you’ll in the safari.

Hello,
I have done a camel trek out of Jaisalmer in 1984...wonderful. It was 3 nights, sort of custom as I got to be friends with the people with the camels.
Every year I come to India on business. Last year my husband joined me for his first time & loved it, we did long road trip to udaipur.
So this year, I thought this would be incredible to do.
I normally come in late Oct for business then can play after...like early mid Nov. I always have to plan my trip around your holiday time. Try to avoid that time because it's too busy & things close down.
So, we would be interested in a 2 night, 3 day trip. Could you let me know your prices & thoughts on this.
