A magical night sleeping under the stars and a full moon! The tour organisers and camel man were charming and very helpful. Delicious food and a great experience - we felt well looked after!

I'm still assimilating what it was that night. My mind just wanted to stop time there. Lying on that mattress in the middle of nowhere under the blankets facing the sky.
It was one of the best experiences I've ever had.
Also, seeing Nepal make dinner in that little fire telling us things about Indian culture and sitting around singing, talking under the stars made us all immediately team up.
Then at the Camp, the show was impressive. Seeing a little bit of Rajastani culture was beautiful. Besides, I fell in love with the wardrobes, especially that of that beautiful woman. Amé.
I would have stayed there forever.
So, if you’re thinking of any extraordinary experiences, this is one of them.

We can’t recommend this trip highly enough!
Jalam, Jeetu and Abhay were the perfect hosts.
Our tour started at 2pm, we left the office at 2:30 and drove by jeep towards the abandoned city of Kuldhara. It’s a gorgeous sight that goes on for miles, make sure to get some pictures of your loved ones from the 2nd floor windows of the preserved buildings and to visit the temple on site which houses bats on its ceiling (see pics).
We then drove to the desert camp, the total journey including the stop was close to 2 hours.
We then met the rest of the team and the camels that would carry us to our bed for the night. The camel ride was 1.5 hours and 9km. It’s a slow and steady ride. We took provisions like water etc in our small packs and left our rucksacks in the truck. In hindsight I’d suggest leaving anything other than phones, camera equipment and hats as theirs no break on the ride to have a sip of water let alone reapply your sun cream. All a blessing, but prepare yourselves on the drive before your camel ride.
We then hit our stay, a beautiful secluded sand dune, not another soul in sight (other than our small tour group).
We had snacks, water and lit a fire to prepare for dinner. Everyone settled in and made their beds comfortable. We brought our own sleeping silk liner but we really didn’t need it. The sheets were clean and fresh and the bed covers heavy and warm. We were told to bring gloves, socks and a jumper for when the temperature dropped. We really didn’t need anything until morning when the wind picked up slightly at which point I put on my thin jumper and socks to stop the chill. I’d say a jumper however thin is a must.
I really wanted to immerse myself in the experience and so jeetu and abhay let me help cutting and preparing the vegetables and help make the chapatis for dinner which was just after sunset.
We had dinner and sang songs as the light went down. The guys we were with brought some coke and whiskey to drink, we chose not too bit buy it before hand if you wish to enjoy for the evening.
The night went dark and we settled into bed, the sky was incredible. We watched the stars and drifted to sleep… however… the moon dilutes the stars a little and we wanted to stay awake to see the moon disappear to see a completely black sky. We woke a few times throughout the night naturally, at 3am the moon was on the horizon and by 4am it had gone, leaving the most incredible sight we’ve ever seen. I’d recommend no alcohol if you want to see the best of it as our tour group missed the highlight!
We woke to the sunset and a lovely breakfast and then embarked on our journey home, a 20 min camel ride and a 1.5 hour drive back to Jaisalmer.
If you come and have a good time tip your guides!! They made our whole stay incredible and we had so much time to sit and chat with them and learn about their life here, do the same, they’re the most friendly bunch you could meet. We really hope to be back and do the same tour with these guys again, book it you won’t be disappointed!
(A few essentials to pack- jumper, toilet roll/tissues/ hand wipes, hand sanitiser, torch, hat/ head scarf, sun cream. We had no issues with insects whatsoever. There’s obvs no power so a power ban is wise.

Truly amazing tour through desert. Really just out of the comfort zone. Everything well arranged, efficient transport and very nice camels. The attendants Jeety and abhay are good, nice, professional and helpful. Are also not too present so you can fully enjoy the trip with your travel companions. Overnight also comfortable. 2 days to remember.

We are now at 80pct of the tour and this is really the highlight. Very basic but top groomed. Good Jeep, beautiful camel ride delicious dinner, tasty bite, the most beautiful starry sky I have seen in my life (only disturbed by the light of the rising moon). Really great and I'm not going to forget this in my life. Thank you jeetu and camel driver abhay!

After 16 days in India, in between bustle, back and forth, finding this place meant peace, calm and an inexplicable thing.
It was like finding that second house. I just wanted to stay there. People are... I couldn't even describe them in words. But I'd say they're my second family. They treated me like we've known each other our whole lives and made us part of them, even playing their cricket match.
The food is exquisite, and all the time they try to make you feel at home.
Oh, and I fulfilled my dream of riding in the desert Jeep, and watching the sunset in its breeze.
Thanks, that's the exact word.
But above all, thank you to each and every one of them (and more specifically to you: Khete, Thanu and you, dear Swaroop, who have been the main piece for me).
I hope to return very soon to visit my desert family.
I recommend enjoying this place because you will feel happy and full.

Uffff a mind-blowing experience!!! .the place is a fantasy and the food delicious. But mostly I stay with the staff. They treated us like a family from the beginning and are always there for whatever you need. Loyal and funny humble people, I feel like I have a house there now. I recommend it if you want a real experience in Rajastan

It has been an incredible experience in a magical setting, an oasis in the middle of all chaotic India. Thank you to all the team, who have made us feel at home at all times. Since we arrived, we have been amazed and treated like one of the family, and I promise that come the last day I had so many emotions inside that I would have liked to stay forever in the desert. How is it possible that in such a short time something like this is possible?
As for the experience, the shops were very comfortable and clean, and all the food delicious (always a bit spicy, but we managed to manage it 🤗).
The rajastani folklore show we also loved.
They even let us paint some walls because they knew we love drawing and one of our friends is an artist.
It is true that we did not do the camel ride but we saw them very well taken care of, something very different compared to other places and that we found very positive. Thank you to Thanu, Swaroop (the best guide and photographer), Khete and everyone else, who have given us such good service and have been so professional. Without you, nothing would have been the same.
We will never forget desert racing, learning to play cricket, and trying to teach us how to play your music. Even if we feel so bad, we have enjoyed it wholeheartedly.

Hi, Suanne. What would you like to know about this attraction?
Hi, yes. I too am a solo female, 60 years old. Most concerned about being cold. I can bring a very heavy coat, or a less heavy quilted ski jacket. Then, I head south, and will no longer need a coat and am thinking about leaving it in Jaisalmer. I'm in India for another three weeks and don't care to drag a big coat with me when it's 80-90 degrees F.
The very heavy one is very warm but old, and quilted one is new and I like very much.
What is your opinion, please?
Thanks, SuAnne

Hi, thanks for your genuine feedback! Did you find satisfaction in the camel ride? I believe this site might have many fake reviews looking at those who rated 5 or Excellent, the contents are similar and some even have the same grammatical errors! Tripadvisor should take serious INVESTIGATION on this! Thanks.
كُتب بتاريخ 20 أكتوبر 2018
Greetings how you can say about fake reviews or things when you didn’t come or experience anything??
Pls reply thanks sawai
