Just a walking distance from the clock tower and Sardar Market in Jodhpur is Toorji ka Jhalra. About 300 mts from the Clock Tower a walk through the narrow lanes can one reach here. Best time to visit would be early morning or late evening. This is well intricately and meticulously designed stepwell bavdi in Jodhpur.

It's an interesting place. Just go and sit there , chill for a while looking at kids jump in the stepwell from a good height .

The structure is good and architecture looks fine. The maintenance is very poor, the water is dirty, stinky and there are many flies. The surrounding area is also not very good. But, there are good restaurants and cafes nearby which give very good view of the fort. The area can be better kept as it gets many tourists.

An interesting monument in the centre of the city but poorly maintained. However definitely worth a visit.

People ought to keep this place clean and not use it for spitting and what not. It's such a dirty place of apparently great historical value.

Good to see such structures still well preserved from our glorious history. Gives glimpse of struggle and lifestyle of people in that era. Also nearby rooftop restaurants give good glimpse of Jhalra and Fort in evening/night.

This step well is amazing. The stairs on the sides are in perfect geometric pattern. The well and the top platform is a perfect square. One has to see to believe that such perfect architecture was possible hundreds of years agao

It is step well that is not maintained at all, locals come here to smoke cigarette and just to sit and hangout. But this place can be uplifted with some maintenance and could be a great tourist spot. If you skip this, i am sure you would not miss anything.

We had a guide who explained the historical significance of the well. We spent not more than 15-20 minutes at the site. Took some photos and returned. Roads leading up to this well is very narrow. You will not be able to go in your car. We took an auto rickshaw. Suggest others to do the same. We were told that there are such step wells in other places of Rajasthan (I haven’t checked that), so if you are pressed for time then you can skip this
