Need to early morning.
Got historic place... It's very hard to walk as no steps are there, difficult for elderly people.
Elserly people or people who can not walk should avoid this place.

The Heritage fort is a sight to watch for. Walk through the amazing height of the pathway. Light & sound show is also good and helps you know the history

Wonderful historical place. Well maintained and clean and eye soothing view, the fort has a heavy walk-in upward direction. The wall that leads to this fort makes it one of the unique experiences in Rajasthan. The entry ticket is cheap and definitely worth more than the money spent.

This is the 2nd biggest fort of India. Infact it is a hidden fort, which you can see only once you arrive near this fort (1 k away or so). You cannot see this fort for a far off distance. This was the engineering beauty of this fort, and the King Kumbhal built this secret fort in this way to avoid enemy attack. You will also see more such stories from the guide, and hence it is recommended to visit this fort with a guide (Rs 725) Though costly for a guide, but worth it.
It is a huge fort. 1-2 hours of walk minimum. But you can take breaks in between. So if travelling with kids of senior citizens, just be mindful. There is no water or washroom inside. So have it before entering the fort.
The guide will explain you a lot of interesting facts about this place. One such fact is the 8 inch heigh of King Kumbhal, and he use to worship the 5 inch Lord Shiva idol (Shiv Linga) by sitting. Imagine 5 inch tall Shiv Linga, and King Kumbhal use to perform the Shiv Abhishek (feeding milk) sitting on his toes. How tall he would be.
He use to carry 35k weapons during all the war. Now a days we cannot carry a 5 kg stuff. They use to carry 35kg weapons always. Such was their stamina.
After China, this is the 2nd biggest wall of the world. Yes our Kings built the tallest wall of the world.
Such interesting facts was worth the money paid to guide.
Once you reach the top, the view is amazing, but barren though. You can see the entire Kumbhalgarh area. 360 degree view.
In between the fort, there is a place where you get a very col breeze. you can sit & relax for 10-15 minutes here. You will feel airy & relaxing.
Net net you can visit this place if walking is not a issue. It is a fort experience (place of historic interest).

We visited in the morning around 10.30. The entry fee is 40/- per person. Vehicle cannot go inside the fort. It is better to hire a guide - costs about 500/- Beware of the monkeys as they look for eatable bags. Evening visit can be much better than morning or afternoon.

A lovely fort with a lot of history behind it, also the tag of having a continuous wall that is only second to the Great Wall of China in length. It's up on a hill and you can drive upto a certain point, the parking space can be hard to find during peak season. So it is advisable to park in the first visible vacant space, even if it's outside the main gate. It takes about 1-1.5 hours to see the fort. There are temples within the complex, for those who wish to visit.

We visited Kumbhalgarh fort Dec 2021. A delightful place with incredible engineering - especially the fort walls. Make sure you hire a good guide so that you miss out on the nuances of the fort. The temples within the complex have incredible architectural value

Hi! I presume you will be travelling from Udaipur to Kumbhalgad. In case you are hiring a cab, you can start early morning from Udaipur - it takes about 2 hours as distance is approx 90 kms. I do not know if any bus service available - you have to find out. One hour is enough to explore the fort. Entry ticket is 40/- and there is cafeteria at the fort. It would be economical if you find any other co passenger to share cab fare. Also the Guide fees can be shared .

Hello, I wanted to visit KumbhalGarh for 1 day with my friends. There are a lot of hotels in the area claiming so many things but I don't know anything about them. Which hotel should we book?

I had stayed at Bela Basera - little pricy but worth all the money. Also little away, but why do you need to stay close to Fort...?
The Forest and Sanctuary is equally mesmerizing, and must visit to go back in history by few hundred years.

How to reach Kumbhalgarh from Falna ?? Rate of private Taxi & if state transport bus available , which station to opt??
Gujju Traveler Aditya
Vadodara, الهند550 مساهمة
Option : 1 : Local Taxis for a day or two trip. If you have booked any resort or hotel local taxis are preferable as local transport doesnt have stoppages.
Option : 2 : If you are on day trip only, local state transport upto saira and then mini bus till kumbhalgadh circle is available.

Yes, definitely go to kumbhalgarh. Fort is woth the visit and there are some excellent hotels to stay in. Or a day trip from Udaipur is also fine. Do not waste time and money on light and sound show. It has absolutely incoherent narration with technical problems, bike lights on our faces,...

My wife and I didn't go on a safari by the Kumbhalgarh Fort.
We went to Nagpur, India, stayed at The Bamboo Forest Safari Lodge and went to a tiger reserve 10 minutes from this lodge.
We saw a black panther, a leopard and two tigers.
