A good Shiva temple at mayiladuthurai or mayavaram. Road side car parking available. Good calm place for worshipping Lord Shiva. Roads in and around mayiladuthurai is worst I had come around till date and the condition of state highways are pathetic.

This is modest temple . There are two temples inside one for Lord Siva, Mayuranatha and one for Abhayapradayani. The temple tank needs maintenance

I had been to this temple on 3rd Nov 18.I went to mailaduturai and hired an auto to visit Mayureswara temple.Temple is good but the premises is not maintained well.This temple had a tank also.This temple had a very tall gopuram which is having lot of nice and beautiful carvings

the tempel is praised by saint ganasambandar and tirunavaukkarasar in thir. lorad tempel is swayambumurthy. may-jun aipasi thula snanam ( bathing in cauvery) that is a very fames on tempel

Wonderful Religious place
Sattainadhar sannidhi at a higher level is an added attraction.
Very devoted set of people in the temple.
Clean temple.
Walking distance from Kalaiyakudi Hotel and Million Day.

Temple was Nice, Big and Beautiful. Need more maintenance and cleanliness. Found kitten cubs and cockroaches on idols. Temple was calm and quiet. Crowd was also less. Not much shops available in and around the temple. One of the Padal Petra Sthalams.
Worth spending your time. Temple has its own pond and as usual they allow to take bath and wash cloths, but atleast the pond was looking good to our eyes. No Proper light facilities available in late evenings. Entrance was totally dark, you don't even know where you are walking.
Overall nice and good feeling of lord shiva

Temple got the name because peacock do ne the Pooja to Lord Shiva. Mayil for peacock in Tamil. So mayil(peacock)+ nathar ( God) = mayuranathar. This temple has its own elephant. Ambal abyambikkai was in standing position. Temple has its own pond with greenish water due to algae n with bad odour but in permissible level. Old temple need more maintenance to attract more tourists. People around the temple came here n study in mandampam and inside temple on the bank of pond. Good ambience . Nice temple. Less crowded . Simply go n pray God without any long queue.

This is a very old and very beautiful temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. This temple has a huge tower (Gopuram) with a stunning architecture.

One of the oldest temples of God Shiva that remains in a neglected condition due to the poor revenue and apathy from the Government. Moreover, the local people also fail to understand the value of the temple associate with their lives. God Mayuranathar, the name of God Shiva at this town, graces the place with asthalingas located within the main shrine.
