The church looks very old, but it’s actually quite nice. And at a good location, in the hearts of OOTY. When the sky looks good, the view is great there.
It is actually small and perfect to go to for prayers and some peaceful time.

Nice one.. one of the oldest church a must visit place in ooty, situated opposite Ooty Collectorate office in Mysore road.

It has a nice peaceful vibe. If you are interested in places of worship, you could surely visit this church.

We would have loved to visit this church, but it was not open for tourists due to the pandemic. Anyway, whatever we could glimpse from outside the main gates looked admirable. What a shame, we couldn't see the interiors.

Small Gothic Church one of the first colonial structions built in the 1820 s on the site of a Toda Temple. Timber for the roof was hauled here by elephant from Tipu Sultan's Palace in Srirangapatnam (Mysore). Nice stained glass windows and an interesting graveyard at the back, but not that outstanding.

When we visited the place, there was a big group of school students there, with their unique uniform.
The place is nice, but when empty, nothing special. There was a performance of one boy, and we were lucky to listen to the songs.

There is quite a bit of history attached to this church, but the highlight of a visit is the stained glass windows

We had visited this beautiful church during our trip to Ooty. From Adams Fountain, we walked to this place crossing the beautiful Union Church on the way. This is one of the bigger heritage Church in Ooty with beautiful architecture and the compound beautifully decorated with a garden having wide variety of flowers. Also the beautiful view of the hills in the distance was mesmerizing. It was definitely worth the walk. We enjoyed clicking pictures in the Church compound and had a great time.

The church is a bit out of the way but worth a look if you have time. The stain glass windows are absolutely beautiful and surprising to find in such quality and detail in a small Indian hill station.

Please can anyone let me know if the grave of Gladys Blount, who died in May 1910, is in the church yard of St Stephen's Church

Can't honestly say, the name doesn't ring a bell but if you're in the area the church and especially the cemetery is well worth a visit.

There were no apparent restrictions and I'm an atheist. It was actually unusual to find a church open to at. To me the most intriguing aspect was the graveyard with it's eulogies to the dead, especially the gentleman who died whilst fox hunting. Oh for the days of the Raj.
