‪This is the place from where the best and the smartest persons emerge after being trained by the cream of Indian Army. Place of pride for every Indian and a must for every visitor, if one can get access to it, in Dehradun, just to see how young lads are converted to brave shining Army officers in a span of few years. ‬

‪This place is inside the IMA campus so entry can be a challenge. But once inside you should definitely visit the museum and see what makes Indian Army the heroes that they are. Read about the martyrs and their martyrdom, see the portraits of the generals who are passouts of the IMA. It’s a lesson in Indian Army’s and IMA history. On the first floor of the museum, you can see on display the various warfare equipment’s that have been used since world war 1. ‬

‪You can flash an iD Card however there is no entry here without you have some Very Special Connections. This does not make Chetwoode Hall any different than Royal Roads or West Point, etc. Thus what is there to review when the very best you can get is a quick glimpse before the Guard gets suspicious. These military compounds are no different than the First Class Lounges found at Airports, which TA does not list As they are not open to everyone. Chatwoode Hall appears to be a structural appealing building but for my part that’s the limit.‬

‪The Chetwoode Hall adjoins the Indian Military Academy and is home to the Indian army's modern artilleries and sophisticated ammunitions along with a wide range of artifacts that detail the splendor of the Indian Armed Forces

Aside from the direct shows, the exhibition hall likewise holds video clippings, which depicts the utilization of these different combat hardware. Unquestionably enough to extinguish the interest of anybody, this gallery is an esteemed wing of the Indian Military Academy.

Be sure to visit the Chetwode Hall in Dehradun to get a glimpse of life into the Indian Army. Chetwode Hall is an important building within the campus of the famous Indian Military Academy (IMA). It is named after the founder of the academy, Sir Philip Chetwode. Chetwode hall is the administrative headquarters and a hub for academic training of the IMA. The building has lecture halls, computer labs, the Central Library as well as a cafe.

There is no activity fee for this activity. You can enjoy it as you want.‬

2. It is always a nostalgic feeling when you come to such places.... which is surrounded by rich history of galore and sacrifice.
3. A must visit by all who come to Dehradun.... who want to motivate their children or want to get motivated themselves to join the Army.‬

‪The Indian Military Academy's pride is the Chetwode Hall (not Chetwoode as mistakenly titled by Tripadvisor!!).

Built in 1930, the Chetwode Hall on the Drill Square houses the administrative headquarters of the IMA and is also the hub of academic training. It has lecture halls, computer labs and a cafe. A newer wing of the Chetwode Hall, added in 1938, houses the Central Library. It has over 100,000 volumes and subscriptions to hundreds of periodicals from across the world, besides multimedia sections. In addition, there are two branch libraries closer to the cadets' barracks across the campus.

The building is named after Field Marshal Philip Walhouse Chetwode, 1st Baron Chetwode, 7th Baronet of Oakley, GCB, OM, GCSI, KCMG, DSO (21 September 1869 – 6 July 1950). Chetwode became the Chief of the General Staff in India in 1928 and Commander-in-Chief, India in November 1930.

Inside the building is the credo of the Academy, engraved on the entrance to the Central Hall, a passage from his address delivered at the formal inauguration of the Academy in 1932:

"The safety, honour and welfare of your country come first, always and every time.

The honour, welfare and comfort of the men you command come next.

Your own ease, comfort and safety come last, always and every time."

Every officer of the Indian Army is committed to following these wise words!‬
