‪I work in Mt. Ebulobo as a volcano observer
Once a year i always hiked to Ebulobo's peak, and it has a wonderful panorama so you can see the sunrise and City of Ende in the east side than Mt. Inerie and Bajawa in the west side

Such an unique mountain with a straight route from bottom to the top and surrounded by community owned gardens like coffee, clove, pinneaple and than pines forest‬

‪Very nice climb‬

‪This mountain is not well known and not many people attempt to climb it. We have inquired about it and were told we need to hire a local guide as the trail is not that easy to follow from the village of Mulakoli and it is a requirement by the local villagers.

Our guide Petr, was a friendly young man who spoke some English , he was quite useful as at time he had to use a machete to clear the shrubs from the trail. First 1.5 hours were passing through a forest, with some coffee shrubs and another 1.5 was hiking above the tree line with nice views over the foresty and hilly area.
The sulfur smell at the top was quite strong, so we were not able to stay that long, but it was a nice anyway as wee were above clouds and the atmosphere was quite serene.
The contact for Peter is085-338-261 696, we paid 200 000 for him to guide us and another 20 000 village fee.
Ebulobo was not as demanding as Inerie but was more peaceful.‬

‪6 hours hiking for a stunning view‬

‪Many people climb Mt Inerie, Mt Ebulobo lies east of Bajawa (1-2 hours). The starting point is in Mulakoli. When the road turns left turn right. We got there at 6 a.m. and they had to wake the guide Aloisius. You have to get a guide (100k Rupiah per person) because you'd never find the way up. You start through green fields and continue through trees up to a point from which there is no vegetation any more. The hike takes a normal sporty person around 3 hours and it's really steep. From the top you can see the north and the south coast of Flores as well as other volcanoes. It's really impressive up there!! The way down is as challenging as the way up because it's steep and a little slippery. We got back at 12 and had to sign the local guest book. And of course all the kids shout "Hello Mister".
If you want to see Flores from the top this is so much worth the hike!!‬
