Markten vertellen iets over de bevolking. In Indonesie zijn ze allemaal "kruip-over-sluip-over" en de letterlijke geuren en kleuren nodigen uit om foto's te blijven maken. Het is er altijd druk. Heerlijk.

ini pasar unik banget, baru pertama kesini kesan nya kayak di film-film. banyak mama-mama dan bapa-bapa yang berjualan, ikan nya masih seger-seger dan murah. ditambah disana juga jualan kain tenun dengan harga yang bervarian dari 300-4 juta

Located over about 3 blocks along the western waterfront in the main city, Ende Markets offer the largest variety of handwoven fabrics in Flores. There are literally hundreds of stalls offering traditional woven scarves, sarongs and blankets from every region of Flores. The colours are stunning and some of the stalls have a huge variety to choose from. The prices will depend on your bargaining skills, so take your time to get your best price, but be respectful of the amount of work that has gone into every piece of fabric, most of them in isolated village traditional patterns. If you're a local you can recognise where people are from by what they are wearing.
The market also offers a large variety of fresh fruit and vegies, coffee, fish and all sorts of food produce, western clothing, luggage, hardware – actually pretty much everything you could want. It’s a big market with a great atmosphere, and very few tourists go there. We drank coffee, ate sweets, had lunch, bought food and coffee to take away, and found everyone very fair with their pricing.
