Nice atmosphere. Perfect place to have a traditional breakfast. I was the only European walking around. Feels nice to be in such a place without any tourist.

This market was packed on a Saturday morning. For a general orientation, fruit vendors are along the south and east sides, on the street outside of the market. The smell of roasting chestnuts here is incredible. On the ground floor you will mostly find clothing, shoes, and snacks of all kinds. The upper floor is mostly vacant, although this is where the electronics are found, along with a few perfume shops. Don't expect anything like Bangkok's electronics markets, but you might want to take a look. True wifi is available at the market, although I didn't try to connect. There are basic toilets (very tiny rooms with just a squat throne) on both levels, maybe worth a pass.

a small little morning market, good for a stroll to look see if you’re staying nearby. may not be worth a trip down if you’re staying far. nice to pick up snacks, some food, nuts.

Situated at the heart of Hat Yai.
Glad to see that the trades have recovered post-covid and still the best place to grab local snacks at a reasonable price before heading to the Hat Yai train station and head-off to the next destination.

ตลาดแห่งนี้ตั้งอยู่ในย่านเขตเศรษฐกิจของหาดใหญ่ ประวัติที่มาของชื่อตลาดกิมหยง มาจากชื่อเต็มว่า "ตลาดชีกิมหยง" เป็นชื่อของเจ้าของที่ดินนี้ เค้าเป็น คหบดีชาวจีนชื่อ ชีกิมหยง ลักษณะเป็นอาคารสองชั้นซึ่งดัดแปลงมาจากโรงภาพยนตร์เก่าที่ปิดให้บริการ ตั้งอยู่ในย่านเขตเศรษฐกิจของหาดใหญ่ที่นักท่องเที่ยวส่วนใหญ่จะต้องแวะมาซื้อสินค้าและของฝากปลอดภาษีต่างๆ ซึ่งเค้าจำหน่ายในราคาไม่แพง
โดยสินค้าส่วนใหญ่มาจากประเทศมาเลเซีย โดยเฉพาะอาหารแห้ง ,กาแฟสำเร็จรูป, ขนม ,เครื่องสำอางค์และเครื่องใช้ไฟฟ้า ดังนั้นตลาดกิมหยงจึงเป็นแหล่งทีนักท่องเที่ยวชาวไทยมาซื้อหาสินค้าเหล่านี้เพื่อกลับไปเป็นของฝาก
พื้นที่ชั้นบนจะจำหน่ายสินค้าหลากหลายและสินค้าเบ็ดเตล็ด ส่วนพื้นที่ชั้นล่างจำหน่ายสินค้าของฝาก,ขนมและธัญพืชนานาชนิด โดยตลาดกิมหยงเป็นตลาดที่มีชื่อเสียงคู่กับ ตลาดสันติสุข ซึ่งจำหน่ายเครื่องใช้ไฟฟ้า น้ำหอมและเครื่องสำอาง ซึ่งตั้งอยู่ในย่านเดียวกันครับ

It's sad now that almost half the shops were closed. I hope business resumes soon as many things we bought before aren't there now. Our quick visit we saw fresh fruit stands, the usual china / malaysian snacks and array of nuts. Some clothing stores are still open. Maybe it was a sunday but it was very quiet.

ตำแหน่งที่ตั้งอยู่ใจกลางเมือง เดินทางสะดวก ใกล้ตลาดกิมหยง สามารถเดินจากโรงแรมไปช้อปปิ้งได้สะดวกมาก ชอบมาก ชอบที่สุดคือการไปซื้อของที่ตลาดกิมหยง ใกล้มาก ไม่ต้องขับรถไปให้ยุ่งยาก เพราะหาที่จอดรถลำบาก ของราคาถูก ผลไม้จากต่างประเทศ ราคาถูก

The best place to buy geoceries with reasonable price & enjoy local foods nearby. However, it's always crowded & limited parking nearby

ตลาดกิมหยง มาหาดใหญ่ก็ต้องแวะ หาซื้อของฝาก ช็อคโกแลต ถั่ว ธัญพืช เครื่องใช้ไฟฟ้า นาฬิกา รองเท้ากีฬา แล้วก็พวกขนมต่าง ๆ ที่เข้ามาจากทางมาเลย์

Stop to visit here for an hour or more on my travel to Songkla for an event. It was nice, nothing unique to say but still got that Thailand vibe experiece

Hi Jo Jo C, Kim Yong market is just like any other market. Yes, they are open throughout the year. One of the popular places among tourists especially Malaysian/ Singaporeans tourists to get their food stuff like dried fruits, dried scallops, dried clams and nuts such as pistachios, cashew and almonds. Have fun!

Kim Yong market operates daily. The shops starts opening about 8am, but most shops would be opened only after 9am. However there are still food/drinks stalls to occupy visitors while waiting for the other shops to open. Hope this helps.
